Game Releases This Week: June 8, 2025 to June 14, 2025

The post Game Releases This Week: June 8, 2025 to June 14, 2025 appeared first on Cheat Code Central.

This past week was host to the slate of summer gaming showcases, capping things off with Sunday’s Xbox Games Showcase and immediately kicking off a new week of exciting game releases. There were some surprising shadow drops on Sunday to start things off, including the arrival of Final Fantasy XVI on Xbox consoles, and there are a surprising amount of other titles that are breaking free of their previous exclusivity to land on other platforms this week. Ports aren’t the only things that we’re seeing launch this week, though, with Friday bringing the launch of one of the year’s most anticipated game releases via The Alters.

Berserk or Die

Game Releases This Week: June 8, 2025 to June 14, 2025
  • Release Date — June 8, 2025
  • Publisher — poncle
  • Developer — Nao Games
  • Genre — Action, Hack and Slash
  • Platforms — PC

It seems like most players were completely unaware of Vampire Survivors developer poncle taking on a vested interest in publishing, and one of its first ventures in this area made its debut on Sunday as a surprise shadow drop. Developed by Nao Games, Berserk or Die is a highly stylized side-scrolling action and beat ’em up game where players have to literally smash either side of their keyboard to play it. Berserk or Die has a strong 81% “Very Positive” user rating on Steam, and going through and reading the different reviews might be even more entertaining than playing the game itself.

Final Fantasy XVI

  • Release Date — June 8, 2025
  • Developer — Square Enix
  • Publisher — Square Enix
  • Genre — JRPG, Action RPG
  • Platforms — Xbox Series X/S

After arriving initially as a PS5 exclusive and then making its way to PC, Final Fantasy XVI is finally out on Xbox Series X/S consoles courtesy of a shadow drop during Sunday’s Xbox Games Showcase. Notably, FFXVI‘s arrival on the platform makes Xbox Series X/S consoles the only modern platform where all mainline single-player Final Fantasy games are playable. Aside from that, though, Final Fantasy XVI is a phenomenal new entry in the long-running series that Xbox owners finally get to try for themselves.

Dune: Awakening

Dune: Awakening gameplay
  • Release Date — June 10, 2025
  • Publisher — Funcom
  • Developer — Funcom
  • Genre — Survival
  • Platforms — PC

Survival games seem to have hit a strong stride recently, as evidenced by their popularity on Steam, and Dune: Awakening is aiming to capitalize on both that popularity and the recent Dune film adaptations from director Denis Villeneuve. The title already has an impressive 88% “Very Positive” user rating on Steam, owing to its faithfulness to the source material and a compelling, yet harsh, open world where almost anything can happen.

MindsEye

MindsEye gameplay
  • Release Date — June 10, 2025
  • Publisher — IO Interactive
  • Developer — Build A Rocket Boy
  • Genre — Action, Shooter
  • Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S

Build A Rocket Boy’s debut title, MindsEye, looked incredibly promising, especially given the pedigree of the studio’s founder, Leslie Benzies. Unfortunately, it seems like MindsEye has mostly landed with a bit of a thud, with the experience currently being ruined by a litany of bugs and technical issues that only seem to magnify some already shallow third-person shooter gameplay. Hopefully, Build A Rocket Boy will work quickly to address some of the more egregious bugs and polish up what could otherwise become a cult classic action game with what’s supposed to be an interesting and timely story.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - Master Crafted Edition gameplay
  • Release Date — June 10, 2025
  • Publisher — Sega
  • Developer — SneakyBox, Relic Entertainment
  • Genre — Action, Shooter
  • Platforms — PC, Xbox Series X/S

Another major disappointment from this week is the remaster of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, the Master Crafted Edition. According to Steam reviews, this new remaster has essentially undone all the work that had been accomplished to improve the original throughout the years, reverting the game back to a state where multiplayer is almost unplayable in exchange for some fairly basic texture swaps. By all accounts, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition is a lazy remaster aiming to cash in on the goodwill the series has earned from Space Marine 2.

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade gameplay
  • Release Date — June 11, 2025
  • Publisher — ShiftUp
  • Developer — PlayStation Publishing LLC
  • Genre — Action, Soulslike
  • Platforms — PC

The latest PlayStation exclusive title to make its way to PC is Stellar Blade, which launches today in both a standard edition and a Complete Edition version that includes all the DLC (including a brand-new crossover launching concurrently with the PC port). Stellar Blade is a great Soulslike-adjacent title that sits somewhere between an honest-to-goodness Soulslike game and a character action title, and its already excellent visuals are bound to look even better on a high-end gaming PC.

Hellbreak

Hellbreak gameplay
  • Release Date — June 12, 2025
  • Publisher — Biotech Gameworks, Double Barrel Games
  • Developer — Double Barrel Games
  • Genre — FPS, Roguelike
  • Platforms — PC (Early Access)

One of two great-looking FPS roguelikes set to launch this week, Hellbreak is essentially what you would get if DOOM from 2016 or Doom Eternal had an endless roguelike mode. Even the visuals are similar, very clearly drawing inspiration from the modern id SoftwareDoom titles in a way befitting its premise. When Hellbreak launches tomorrow, it will initially be in Early Access for a year before arriving as a more content-rich experience down the line. Considering that Doom: The Dark Ages just came out, Hellbreak‘s launch couldn’t have been better timed for anyone hungry for more demon-shooting action.

Vilde

Vilde gameplay
  • Release Date — June 12, 2025
  • Publisher — Chaotic Minds
  • Developer — Chaotic Minds
  • Genre — FPS, Roguelike
  • Platforms — PC

The other FPS roguelike launching this week, other than Hellbreak, is Vilde, which looks intriguing, to say the least. Sporting a visual style and aesthetic that is heavily reminiscent of Valheim, Vilde is a stylistic FPS game with both weapons and magic that uses a Norse mythology backdrop and apparently contains a surprising amount of variety in its buildcraft. From just the screenshots and trailer alone, it seems like Vilde will be one to keep an eye on for anyone who enjoys endlessly replayable first-person shooters with a unique setting and premise.

Wizard of Legend II

Wizard of Legend II gameplay
  • Release Date — June 12, 2025
  • Publisher — Dead Mage
  • Developer — Humble Games
  • Genre — Action Roguelike
  • Platforms — PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S

Dead Mage’s Wizard of Legend is one of the more beloved action roguelikes to help popularize the subgenre years ago, and last year, it released its follow-up, Wizard of Legend II. With a bigger budget and more resources at its disposal, Dead Mage took the original formula and translated it into a more modern, 3D visual style (moving away from its predecessor’s pixel art) and seems to have lost some of the charm in the transition. This week will see the title finally make its way to both PlayStation and Xbox following almost a year of PC exclusivity, so hopefully those ports are able to help the title get a more positive reception than it’s gotten on Steam.

The Alters

The Alters gameplay
  • Release Date — June 13, 2025
  • Publisher — 11 bit Studios
  • Developer — 11 bit Studios
  • Genre — Action-Adventure, Survival
  • Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S

The last major title to release this week, and arguably one of June’s most anticipated game releases, is The Alters. The Alters is a narrative-driven survival and crafting game where you play as a scientist who must use experimental technology to clone himself and try to survive on a harsh alien planet while also contending with, well, yourself. From the early preview coverage, it seems like The Alters is going to be a game that mixes plenty of humor in with its mind-bending sci-fi, and the track record of the team at 11 bit studios seems to suggest that it’ll be one of the year’s best and most unique gaming experiences.
