Best Deals to Grab on the Nintendo eShop This Week, June 25, 2025 to July 2, 2025
As one sale on the Nintendo eShop is winding down, another is stepping in to take its place, featuring plenty of excellent discounts on great games to play on either a Nintendo Switch or Switch 2. Several of the best deals active on the eShop this week see a surprising selection of games getting their first-ever discounts or back down to their historic lows, making now a great time to spring for a new game if you’re in the market for it. Most of the titles that we’re highlighting here are on sale until July 10, 2025, though there are some games whose discounts will expire by June 28.
Borderlands Legendary Collection
- Release Date — May 29, 2020
- Developer — Gearbox Software
- Publisher — 2K
- Genre — FPS, Looter Shooter
- Review Aggregate Score — 82% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $9.99 (Normally $49.99, 80% off)
Coinciding with the rollout of Borderlands 4‘s pre-orders and plenty of preview coverage of the game, Gearbox Software and 2K have been putting the rest of the series on a deep discount. The Switch isn’t left out of the fun, with its Borderlands Legendary Collection back down to its record low of just $9.99. For just $10, you’ll get Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, all of which run and play great on the Switch and pack around 300 hours of potential gameplay.
Risk of Rain 2
- Release Date — October 20, 2020
- Developer — Hopoo Games, Gearbox Software
- Publisher — Gearbox Publishing
- Genre — Action Roguelike
- Review Aggregate Score — 85% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $6.24 (Normally $24.99, 75% off)
Another Gearbox game currently on sale is the phenomenal Risk of Rain 2. One of the best action roguelikes, still years after its release, Risk of Rain 2 drops you on a hostile alien world and tasks you with surviving seemingly endless waves of enemies while picking up weapon and ability upgrades that stack the odds in your favor. Risk of Rain 2 is normally $25, so to see it down to a new record-low price of just $6.24 makes it an easy recommendation to pick up, especially if you have someone to play the game in co-op with.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
- Release Date — October 8, 2021
- Developer — Traveller’s Tales
- Publisher — Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
- Genre — Action-Adventure
- Review Aggregate Score — 79% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $5.99 (Normally $39.99, 85% off)
Any one of the LEGO games is usually a safe bet, and there are plenty of different IP to choose from across the series that make it a franchise with something for just about everyone. But the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes games are both at their historically low prices on the Nintendo eShop, and they’re each an easy recommendation for either solo players or as a great co-op game. While LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is almost as good, we recommend picking up the first LEGO Marvel Super Heroes for just $6.
Front Mission 1st: Remake
- Release Date — November 30, 2022
- Developer — Forever Entertainment
- Publisher — Forever Entertainment
- Genre — TRPG
- Review Aggregate Score — 69% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $11.89 (Normally $34.99, 66% off)
Square Enix’s Front Mission series is a hugely underrated run of great mech-themed tactical RPGs that, with just a few exceptions, largely remained a Japanese exclusive. Over the last few years, Forever Entertainment has been remaking the initial trilogy of titles (with the Front Mission 3 Remake launching tomorrow), and Front Mission 1st: Remake is down to its lowest-ever price on the Nintendo eShop. For just $12, you’ll get one of the better and more underrated TRPGs on the Switch.
Moonlighter: Complete Edition
- Release Date — November 5, 2018
- Developer — Digital Sun
- Publisher — 11 bit studios
- Genre — Action RPG, Management
- Review Aggregate Score — 83% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $4.34 (Normally $28.99, 85%)
Ahead of Moonlighter 2‘s launch at some point later in 2025 (or maybe even 2026?), the original Moonlighter‘s Complete Edition is on sale on the eShop. For anyone who has yet to play Moonlighter, imagine a game where half of it is like the classic 2D Legend of Zelda games and the other half involves selling all the loot and treasures you collect during your dungeon crawls back to your fellow villagers. The blend of hack and slash combat and shop management sim is addictive on its own, and the Complete Edition of Moonlighter packs in all the DLC to deliver one hugely content-rich package worth way more than its current $4 asking price.
This War of Mine: Complete Edition
- Release Date — November 27, 2018
- Developer — 11 bit studios
- Publisher — 11 bit studios
- Genre — Survival
- Review Aggregate Score — 80% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $3.99 (Normally $39.99, 90% off)
Another Complete Edition of a beloved title that’s currently at a heavy discount on the Nintendo eShop is the one for This War of Mine. This 2D survival game tells a harrowing and emotionally poignant tale of a group of people struggling to survive through, what else, a war, and it has some strong writing and character development that make it all too easy to get invested in its narrative. You could do a lot worse than just $4 for roughly 70-ish hours of gameplay across multiple playthroughs.
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
- Release Date — December 4, 2018
- Developer — Game Atelier
- Publisher — FDG Entertainment
- Genre — Metroidvania
- Review Aggregate Score — 86% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $9.99 (Normally $39.99, 75% off)
There are plenty of great Metroidvanias on the Nintendo eShop, and a surprising number of them are currently on sale. One that doesn’t go on sale quite as often as others, though, is Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, which is a phenomenal modern take on the classic Wonder Boy games on Sega Genesis. Monster Boy is normally one of the more expensive indie Metroidvanias at a whopping $40, but its current deep discount sees the title back down at its historic low of just $10.
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair
- Release Date — October 8, 2019
- Developer — Playtonic Games
- Publisher — Team17
- Genre — Platformer
- Review Aggregate Score — 81% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $2.99 (Normally $29.99, 90% off)
The Yooka-Laylee games are a loving homage to a very distinct era of platforming game design, pulling in elements of both Super Mario 64 and Crash Bandicoot in their gameplay. The second game in the series, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, starts simply enough but eventually ramps up its challenge to rival even some of the harder modern platformers like Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, but it never stops being fun or charming. The Impossible Lair is almost required playing for platforming fans, and its current $3 price sweetens the deal.
Astalon: Tears of the Earth
- Release Date — June 3, 2021
- Developer — LABS Works
- Publisher — DANGEN Entertainment
- Genre — Metroidvania
- Review Aggregate Score — 82% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $9.99 (Normally $19.99, 50% off)
Another Metroidvania that rarely goes on sale is currently one of the best deals to grab on the eShop this week, and it’s Astalon: Tears of the Earth. Astalon draws a lot of clear influence from the proto-Metroidvania games of yore (Xanadu, Maze of Galius) but smooths out those titles’ rougher edges with some modern flourishes. The result is that Astalon feels like a classic and unknown game unearthed like buried treasure, and it’s got a surprisingly long runtime while never stopping being fun or rewarding.
Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
- Release Date — January 7, 2025
- Developer — Nihon Falcom
- Publisher — XSEED Games
- Genre — Action RPG
- Review Aggregate Score — 79% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $20.99 (Normally $29.99, 30% off)
Having just been released earlier this year, Ys Memoire: Oath in Felghana is now discounted for the first time. Oath in Felghana is the modern remake of the classic action RPG Ys III, and after its initial debut years ago on the PSP, it’s now available on the Switch and other modern consoles. Oath in Felghana is widely regarded as the best of the “classic” Ys games (an honor we bestowed on it in our series ranking), and it’s perhaps the absolute best action RPG you can get for $20 as part of the current eShop sale.
