The Best October Prime Day Gaming Deals
Amazon Prime’s October event kicked off this morning with two days of what it’s calling “Prime Big Deal Days”, and there are a ton of great deals to be had on games and PC gaming components. In many cases, the deals that you’ll see on some of the physical versions of games are their lowest-ever prices. Do note, however, that most of the deals are specific to certain platforms for each game, which we’ve outlined below. Most of the current gaming deals on Amazon Prime are limited in both stock and duration, meaning players will need to act fast if they hope to take advantage of them before the Prime Big Deal Days event ends on October 8.
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- Price — $338 (Normally $449, 25% off)
Putting together a gaming PC can be a costly endeavor, especially in 2025 when market conditions and global instability are making already expensive components even more pricey. So getting a great deal on what should be the two most expensive parts of a potential PC build, the CPU or the GPU, is always a plus. Right now, you can grab one of the current best-for-your-dollar CPUs on the market for a hefty 25% off discount as part of the Prime Big Deal Days event, with the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D down to just $338. This is likely the best price you’ll see on this CPU for quite some time, and it just so happens to be an incredibly powerful and versatile processor that should suit most players’ gaming PC needs.
Samsung 990 Pro w/Heatsink, 2TB SSD
- Price — $139.99 (Normally $209.99, 33% off)
If you’re in the process of building a gaming PC or are already an avid PC gamer, you’re going to need to consider whether you have enough onboard storage in your desktop. Most AAA titles range anywhere from 20 to over 200GB, which can quickly eat up a 1 or 2TB internal SSD when you factor in other files and your operating system already taking up space. There are a ton of incredible deals on internal and external storage on Amazon right now, but one of the best is the Samsung 990 Pro line of internal SSDs, with the 2TB model highlighted here (which includes a heat sink) having one of the best discounts available. Even if your storage needs are currently sorted, it’s almost worth just grabbing an extra SSD to have on hand at this price.
ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
- Price — $849.99 (Normally $999.99, 15% off)
For the most part, the greatest cost of building or upgrading a gaming PC is going to be the GPU, and it certainly doesn’t help that they very rarely get substantial discounts. There are quite a few decent deals on GPUs on Amazon as part of the Prime Big Deal Days event, but the one that sticks out the most to us is the massive 15% off discount on the ASUS TUF 5070 Ti. Similar to the AMD CPU we already highlighted, the 5070 Ti is one of the best “bang for your buck” GPU options under $1,000, with 16GB of VRAM that allows you to comfortably overclock it for maximum performance. 15% may not sound like that much of a discount, but when a product is normally $1,000, $150 off is a big chunk.
SteelSeries Apex Pro HyperMagnetic Gaming Keyboard
- Price — $99.99 (Normally $199.99, 50% off)
By the time you’ve gone through all the work of sourcing your components and building a gaming PC, it can be all too easy to forget that you’ll still need a high-quality gaming keyboard and mouse to get the most out of the experience. Amazon has a ton of great deals on reliable and dependable gaming keyboards right now (including some other great options from Corsair and 8bitdo), but this deal on SteelSeries’ Apex Pro HyperMagnetic keyboard is almost too good to be true. The HyperMagnetic keyboard is one of the best wired gaming keyboards money can buy, and that you can get it for a massive 50% discount right now is unreal. If you’re in the market for a new keyboard, act fast to grab this one before the deal expires or it’s fully claimed.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
- Release Date — October 10, 2024
- Developer — Spike Chunsoft
- Publisher — Bandai Namco
- Review Aggregate Score — 81% (Generally Favorable)
- Platforms — PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Price — $37.90 (Normally $59.99, 37% off)
The selection of games on sale during this recent Amazon Prime Day is admittedly a little slimmer than it has been during previous sales events, but that lack of quantity is made up for with the quality of titles available. Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero are on sale for a nice 37% discount, bringing them down to just $38. Sparking! Zero is one of the best Dragon Ball Z fighting games and a fitting follow-up to the excellent Dragon Ball FighterZ, which makes it an essential pick-up for any anime and fighting game fans.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
- Release Date — June 10, 2021
- Developer — Square Enix Business Division 1
- Publisher — Square Enix
- Review Aggregate Score — 89% (Generally Favorable)
- Platforms — PS4, PS5
- Price — $28.49 (Normally $39.99, 29% off)
Ahead of the title’s upcoming launch on Nintendo Switch 2, the PS4 and PS5 versions of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade are on sale for just $28, down from their normal $40 asking price. Millions of players have already enjoyed both this first chapter and the second chapter in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, but if you’ve somehow avoided it until now, this is likely the best deal that you’re going to get on a physical copy of the game. Plus, with Rebirth also on sale (more on that in a bit), you’ve got a perfect opportunity to pick up both the first and second chapters in the trilogy and dive into the story ahead of the upcoming finale.
Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Anniversary Edition (Pixel Remasters)
- Release Date — April 19, 2023
- Developer — Tose, Square Enix
- Publisher — Square Enix
- Review Aggregate Score — 84% (Generally Favorable)
- Platforms — Nintendo Switch
- Price — $44.99 (Normally $74.99, 40% off)
Square Enix has quite a few great titles on sale as part of Prime Day, including the Switch version of the Final Fantasy I-VI Collection (which contains the Pixel Remasters versions of each title). These first 6 Final Fantasy games are legendary titles that helped lay the groundwork not just for Final Fantasy to become one of the most important and enduring game franchises, but for the JRPG genre as a whole. This price on the physical version matches the recent deals we’ve seen on the digital version of this collection, which is not something that happens all that often. Physical collectors who’ve been waiting for a great deal for this iconic collection should act now, because this is probably the best one you’ll get.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered
- Release Date — December 10, 2024
- Developer — Crystal Dynamics, Aspyr
- Publisher — Aspyr
- Review Aggregate Score — 77% (Generally Favorable)
- Platforms — PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch
- Price — $19.99 (Normally $29.99, 33% off)
Aspyr’s video game remasters have run the gamut from disappointing to downright incredible, with its recent touching up of the excellent Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver games sitting toward the latter rather than the former. The original versions of these games are beloved gothic horror action-adventure classics that became cult favorites for very good reason, and the remaster does a great job of sharpening up the visuals and bringing them to modern hardware while leaving the core experience largely intact. Both the PS5 and Switch versions of the collection can currently be had for just $20, which is a nice 33% discount off of its normal MSRP.
Fantasian Neo Dimension
- Release Date — December 5, 2024
- Developer — Mistwalker, Square Enix Creative Studio 3
- Publisher — Square Enix
- Review Aggregate Score — 80% (Generally Favorable)
- Platforms — Nintendo Switch
- Price — $29.99 (Normally $49.99, 40% off)
Of all the Square Enix games that are currently on sale as part of Prime Day, one that might get overlooked is Fantasian Neo Dimension. This title was a former Apple Arcade exclusive developed by Mistwalker (the studio founded by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi) and is a throwback to the classic JRPG gameplay that built Square Enix. It also happens to be visually stunning, mixing 3D character models with real-life environments made from photographed dioramas and miniatures. The Nintendo Switch version (which, honestly, is arguably the best way to play this underrated gem) is currently down to just $30, matching a previous low price that Amazon had on the title earlier this year.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
- Release Date — November 14, 2024
- Developer — Artdink
- Publisher — Square Enix
- Review Aggregate Score — 84% (Generally Favorable)
- Platforms — PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S
- Price — $37.99 (Normally $59.99, 37% off)
Just in time for the release of Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake later this month, Amazon has a great deal on last year’s Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. All three versions of this modern reimagining of the beloved classic are a whopping 37% off, bringing it down to just $38 instead of its normal $60. While Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is an unabashedly old-school JRPG experience that sticks closely to the foundation of the original, you can hardly fault Square Enix and Artdink for not wanting to fix what isn’t broken, especially considering the original is widely regarded as one of the best JRPGs ever made.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Release Date — August 25, 2023
- Developer — FromSoftware
- Publisher — Bandai Namco
- Review Aggregate Score — 86% (Generally Favorable)
- Platforms — PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
- Price — $19.99 (Normally $29.99, 33% off)
The current deal on Armored Core VI is the best price we’ve ever seen on the physical version, with copies for all platforms down to just $20. The love for the Armored Core franchise pushed FromSoftware to tackle a new entry after more than a decade away from it, and it came back with a vengeance with Armored Core VI to deliver what’s arguably the best game in the series. And though you shouldn’t go into Armored Core VI expecting a Soulslike akin to FromSoftware’s more modern output, there are still touches of Miyazaki’s design evident in its gameplay, especially where boss fights and build strategies are concerned. Armored Core VI is one of the best action games of the last few years and this is its best-ever price.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Release Date — February 29, 2025
- Developer — Square Enix Creative Business Unit I
- Publisher — Square Enix
- Review Aggregate Score — 92% (Universal Acclaim)
- Platforms — PlayStation 5
- Price — $34.99 (Normally $49.99, 30% off)
If you’re going to take advantage of the great deal on Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, it only makes sense to go ahead and grab Final Fantasy VII Rebirth while it’s also on sale. You can currently grab the physical version of this 2024 Game of the Year nominee for just $35, which is a phenomenal deal that beats out most discounts we’ve seen on the digital version. Compared to Remake, Rebirth feels like two games in one, with easily more than 150 hours of content for someone to see and do everything in its beautifully realized, feature-rich open world version of the world of Final Fantasy VII.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
- Release Date — February 21, 2025
- Developer — Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio
- Publisher — Sega
- Review Aggregate Score — 79% (Generally Favorable)
- Platforms — PlayStation 5
- Price — $27.98 (Normally $59.99, 53% off)
Less than a year after its release, the latest game in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series is already down to a historically low price as part of Prime Day. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is an excellent return to form for the Yakuza series that sees it go back to its beat ’em up roots after several role-playing entries, and it even throws in a competent ship combat model to boot in support of Goro Majima’s delusions that he’s a pirate. Yes, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds, and it’s also incredibly fun. Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii might have been a bit of a stretch to pick up at full price, but it’s absolutely worth grabbing at just $28.
Split Fiction
- Release Date — March 6, 2025
- Developer — Hazelight Studios
- Publisher — Electronic Arts
- Review Aggregate Score — 91% (Universal Acclaim)
- Platforms — PlayStation 5
- Price — $39.99 (Normally $49.99, 20% off)
There’s every chance that Hazelight’s incredible Split Fiction will win Game of the Year for 2025, and you can currently get it for its best price yet on Amazon. While this deal doesn’t apply to any other versions (like the Xbox Series X/S or Switch 2 versions), players can currently grab the physical PS5 copy for just $40 instead of its normal $50 MSRP. Best of all, getting one copy ensures you a guest copy to share with a friend of your choosing, meaning you can enjoy one of the best co-op games ever made without having to shell out for an additional disc.
Elden Ring
- Release Date — February 25, 2022
- Developer — FromSoftware
- Publisher — Bandai Namco
- Review Aggregate Score — 96% (Universal Acclaim)
- Platforms — PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
- Price — $29.99 (Normally $49.99, 40% off)
If you’ve somehow managed to miss out on Elden Ring by 2025, then Amazon is giving you every incentive to correct that mistake with an incredible deal on the physical version of the game. All platforms currently have their copies of Elden Ring discounted to just $30, a massive 40% discount from its normal asking price. Elden Ring is easily a contender for the best action RPG ever made and a triumphant culmination of years of game design expertise from creator and director Hidetaka Miyazaki. To say it’s a masterpiece almost feels like an understatement. It would honestly be shocking to hear someone hadn’t played Elden Ring yet, but if you’re one of the few, now’s the best time to pick up a copy and see what all the hype is about.
