Games Releasing This Week: June 1, 2025 to June 7, 2025

The post Games Releasing This Week: June 1, 2025 to June 7, 2025 appeared first on Cheat Code Central.

This week is set to be one of the biggest of the entire year, thanks to the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 and the deluge of software accompanying it. But the Switch 2’s arrival is far from the only game release this week that players should pay attention to, as there are plenty of other, albeit smaller, releases that are worth checking out. We recently covered every single game that will be available for the Switch 2 at launch, so rather than include them all here again, we’re only highlighting the new titles that are launching alongside the Switch 2. That means no ports, remasters, or re-releases, which ultimately make up the bulk of the Switch 2’s launch lineup.

Cyber Knights: Flashpoint

Games Releasing This Week: June 1, 2025 to June 7, 2025
  • Release Date — June 2, 2025
  • Developer — Trese Brothers
  • Publisher — Trese Brothers
  • Genre — Turn-Based Tactics
  • Platforms — PC

A lower-profile release early on in the week, Cyber Knights: Flashpoint may not be on most players’ radar, but it’s certainly been on many tactics fans’. The latest game from the Trese Brothers, whose library of tactics games are all much-loved classics in the genre, Cyber Knights: Flashpoint is the duo’s most ambitious project yet, combining their know-how of solid tactical gameplay with some impressive production values and exciting heist-based missions. Cyber Knights was already a major hit in Early Access thanks to the strength of its premise and gameplay, and its 1.0 release sees it positioned to become talked about as one of the year’s best tactics games.

Void War

  • Release Date — June 2, 2025
  • Developer — Tundra
  • Publisher — Tundra
  • Genre — Strategy, Roguelike
  • Platforms — PC

Another title that’s set up to be one of the month’s sleeper hits is the excellent Void War. Imagine FTL meets the Warhammer universe, and you’re not far off. While Void War is not an official Warhammer 40K title, the similarities between its aesthetic and that long-running franchise are hard to ignore, and they’re backed up with some impressively deep and rewarding ship management and strategic combat that fans of Faster Than Light are sure to be immediately familiar with. As of the time of writing, Void War is also one of the top-selling games on Steam’s “New and Trending” list.

Galactic Glitch

  • Release Date — June 3, 2025
  • Developer — Crunchy Leaf Games
  • Publisher — Crunchy Leaf Games
  • Genre — Shooter, Roguelike
  • Platforms — PC

Another Early Access title making its 1.0 debut this week, Galactic Glitch is a space-faring action roguelike that blends the gameplay loop of a twin-stick shooter with the structure and progression curve of Dead Cells. The highlight of Galactic Glitch is definitely its combat, which mixes a traditional arsenal of weaponry with some interesting randomized abilities and a physics-based grapple that allows players to grab and throw small enemies and debris to damage larger foes. In my recent review of Galactic Glitch, I levied praise on the title for being consistently rewarding and fun, if not a bit derivative, and it definitely deserves to be on roguelike fans’ wishlists.

Rise of Industry 2

Rise of Industry 2 gameplay
  • Release Date — June 3, 2025
  • Developer — SomaSim
  • Publisher — Kasedo Games
  • Genre — City-Builder, Strategy, Simulation
  • Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S

The original Rise of Industry was a much-loved cult-classic strategy and simulation game about building up an early 20th-century industrialized empire and then watching it either thrive or fall apart in hilarious fashion. For its sequel, the developer has decided to move the clock forward a bit, transporting players to the neon-soaked excess of the 1980s while attempting to keep the same general gameplay loop intact. Interestingly enough, the early review coverage for Rise of Industry 2 seems to indicate that the game is actually missing several prominent features from the first title and rife with bugs, so maybe wait for a series of post-launch patches before picking this one up.

Fast Fusion

Fast Fusion gameplay
  • Release Date — June 5, 2025
  • Developer — Shin’en
  • Publisher — Shin’en
  • Genre — Racing
  • Platforms — Switch 2

Shin’en’s racing games are excellent approximations of the thrill that titles like F-Zero and Wipeout used to regularly deliver, and in the wake of those series’ dormancy, it’s refreshing to have a worthwhile substitute. The developer’s latest game in the series, Fast Fusion, is an excellent-looking futuristic racing game that will be available on the Switch 2 as a digital-only title, and its budget-friendly price of $14.99 makes it a perfect pick up for anyone looking for something other than Mario Kart World to get their racing game fix.

Mario Kart World

  • Release Date — June 5, 2025
  • Developer — Nintendo
  • Publisher — Nintendo
  • Genre — Racing
  • Platforms — Switch 2

The flagship first-party title for the launch of the Switch 2 is none other than Mario Kart World, a bold new open-world take on the classic Nintendo kart racing franchise that looks to be equal parts Forza Horizon as much as it pulls from the best-selling Mario Kart 8. The debut trailer for this one showcases all kinds of exciting new abilities, tracks, racers, and more, and the series’ tradition of being one of the best-selling games of each Nintendo hardware generation makes it a safe bet to be a great system-seller for the Switch 2.

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour

  • Release Date — June 5, 2025
  • Developer — Nintendo
  • Publisher — Nintendo
  • Genre — Simulation, Mini-Game
  • Platforms — Switch 2

Surprisingly, the only other first-party Nintendo game to launch alongside the Switch 2 is the offbeat Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour. Many thought that this game would end up being a free, pre-installed title on the Switch 2 hardware based on its reveal at the April Nintendo Direct showcase, but no; Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is a premium paid product that, according to Nintendo, has more than enough content to justify its $10 asking price. From what’s been shown off of the title so far, it looks to be a collection of interesting, very “Nintendo” mini-games that teach players about the Switch 2. If nothing else, it’ll be an interesting curiosity in the console’s library.

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma gameplay
  • Release Date — June 5, 2025
  • Developer — Marvelous
  • Publisher — Marvelous, XSEED Games
  • Genre — RPG, Simulation
  • Platforms — PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2

The long-running Rune Factory series is set to launch its latest entry, Guardians of Azuma, as a cross-platform release between the Switch and Switch 2 and on PC this Thursday, June 5. Thanks to an earlier embargo, reviews are already dropping for Guardians of Azuma, and they’re very positive so far, with the title holding a current review aggregate score of 82% from 16 different critics. For those unfamiliar, the Rune Factory series blends RPG combat and progression with more relaxed elements like town management and farming, sitting squarely between the simulation and role-playing genres.

Dragon Is Dead

Dragon Is Dead gameplay
  • Release Date — June 6, 2025
  • Developer — Team Suneat
  • Publisher — PM Studios
  • Genre — Action-Platformer, Roguelike
  • Platforms — PC

Team Suneat’s Dragon Is Dead is an interesting one. Having been in Early Access for going on two years, the title is set to receive a major content update as part of its launch into 1.0 this week. At its core, Dragon Is Dead is very similar to other “Roguevania” games like Dead Cells, but it does have some interesting wrinkles to help it stand out. Primarily, Dragon Is Dead has a surprising amount of Diablo DNA. Enemies drop plenty of rarity-tiered loot, and gear is just as important as progression through stat points and abilities. Having played a good bit of Dragon Is Dead during EA, I’m excited to see what the 1.0 launch offers.

Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero gameplay
  • Release Date — June 6, 2025
  • Developer — miHoYo
  • Publisher — Cognosphere
  • Genre — Action RPG, Gacha
  • Platforms — Xbox Series X/S

Capping off this week’s game releases are two titles making their console debut after being PC exclusive. The first of these is the Xbox console launch of miHoYo’s Zenless Zone Zero. A sci-fi action RPG from the makers of Genshin Impact, Z3 is already a hugely popular title that Xbox players can finally try out for themselves.

Splitgate 2

Splitgate 2 gameplay
  • Release Date — June 6, 2025
  • Developer — 1047 Games
  • Publisher — 1047 Games
  • Genre — FPS
  • Platforms — PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

The other title to break free of its PC exclusivity this week is Splitgate 2. Splitgate 2 recently had a public beta on PC ahead of its launch, and the game’s release will see it arrive not just on PC but on modern consoles as well. This reality-bending shooter blends some excellent and satisfying gunplay with the teleporting of Valve’s Portal, and its predecessor was a major hit just a few years back. With any luck, Splitgate 2 will be like the first game, only better.
