Amazon’s Prime Day Deals Are Live! Here Are Some of the Best Gaming and PC Deals to Grab
Hot on the heels of all the sales on digital gaming storefronts is Amazon’s 2025 Prime Day sale. Beginning today, July 8, and running until this Friday, July 11, Prime Day is host to thousands of deals on a wide variety of products, including plenty of great discounts on games, gaming accessories, and even PC components. Notably, there are some discounts on actual hardware like gaming laptops and pre-built gaming PCs, but these discounts are slim at best (we’re talking anywhere from 7%-16% off their normal MSRP). Similarly, there are some GPU and CPU discounts to be found, but you might end up paying more via Amazon than you would if you went to a brick-and-mortar retailer like MicroCenter. The best deals are the ones on components and the games themselves, which we’ve highlighted here.
Samsung SSD 9100 Pro 4TB
- Price — $384.99 (Normally $549.99, 30% off)
- Link
The size of most AAA games means that players will quickly hit the upper limits of their storage quicker than they might expect. Even with a 2TB SSD, you still might not have enough space to keep every game you want installed and readily playable on your PC, which is where an SSD upgrade comes in handy. Most modern motherboards come with multiple NVMe slots for housing more than just one SSD, meaning you can have a dedicated drive for your OS and all other files and another one (or two) specifically just for installing games. One of the best SSD options for both performance and price is the Samsung 9100 Pro, which has a nice and roomy 4TB configuration on a deep discount as part of Prime Day. Normally $550, you can currently grab a massive storage upgrade for just $385. Still expensive, but a great deal nonetheless.
WD_Black 2TB SSD
- Price — $179.99 (Normally $251.99, 29% off)
- Link
PCs aren’t the only hardware that requires extensive storage these days, with both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S eligible for SSD upgrades. But while the Xbox Series X/S has proprietary external SSD upgrades that plug into a slot on the back of the console, the PS5 can use several of the same NVMe SSD drives that you’d slot into a gaming PC’s motherboard. Of course, making sure that your SSD is compatible with the PS5 is an important part of selecting the right drive, which makes officially licensed ones like the WD_Black. Western Digital’s WD_Black line of SSDs are officially licensed by Sony to work within the PS5 and ready to install right out of the box (no need for an additional heatsink). The 2TB model is currently on sale for 29% off, giving you a substantial upgrade to your PS5’s internal storage for just $180.
Crucial Pro 32GB DDR5 RAM
- Price — $76.99 (Normally $104.99, 27% off)
- Link
The process of building a PC is one of the most fun parts of getting into the hobby, but it can be a little daunting to pick out all the components and make sure they’re compatible. Regardless of what other elements you’ll be putting into your build, everyone will need RAM to make their PC boot properly, and Crucial is a known and trusted brand that makes great memory sticks. The Crucial Pro DDR5 RAM kit with two 16GB sticks (for a total of 32GB of working memory) is one of the best performance-for-value options you can grab, and it’s currently on sale for just $77. While it doesn’t feature the RGB or other bells and whistles you might find in other brands, its 6000MHz read speed is the real draw and arguably some of the best performance you can get at this price.
8Bitdo Ultimate 2 Controller
- Platforms — PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2
- Price — $55.99 (Normally $69.99, 20% off)
- Link
Even if you’re one of the lucky ones to have been able to get a Nintendo Switch 2 at launch, chances are you might still be looking for a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. Rather than paying an inflated price on the secondary market or waiting for major retailers to restock the official first-party Pro Controller, though, I’d recommend grabbing the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2. This Bluetooth controller is compatible with PC, the original Nintendo Switch, and the Switch 2, and is just as high-quality a controller as Nintendo’s first-party offering, maybe even more so. 8Bitdo makes excellent peripherals at very reasonable prices, and the Ultimate 2 is currently on a rare discount down to just $56.
Final Fantasy I-VI Collection
- Platforms — PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch
- Price — $44.99 (Normally $74.99, 40% off)
- Link
Now that we’ve covered some of the best gaming components and accessories discounted as part of Prime Day, it’s time to look at the games themselves. One of the best deals available is the steep discount on the Final Fantasy I-VI Collection for Switch and PS4, which brings together the 6 Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters into a single game card/disc. While the first three games in the collection are important entries that may not have aged as well as the rest, Final Fantasy IV–VI are three of the all-time greatest games in the JRPG genre and absolutely worth grabbing this collection for. It’s normally $75 but is currently down to just $45 as part of Prime Day.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
- Platforms — Nintendo Switch
- Price — $34.99 (Normally $59.99, 42% off)
- Link
Square Enix has a ton of great physical games on sale as part of Prime Day, and one of the best ones available is the Switch version of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. Notably, Dragon Quest III is one of several Switch games that reportedly runs significantly better on the Switch 2, so if you have one of Nintendo’s new handhelds and are looking for a great JRPG, look no further. The Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is an incredible reimagining of one of the best entries in the classic JRPG series, and it’s currently at a sizable 42% discount that brings it down to just $35.
Split Fiction
- Platforms — PlayStation 5
- Price — $35 (Normally $49.99, 30% off)
- Link
At this point, it’s safe to say that Split Fiction is one of a handful of games released in 2025 that’s a lock for getting a Game of the Year nomination at The Game Awards (in addition to plenty of other ceremonies), and it’s a whopping 30% off as part of Prime Day. It’s rare to see a game so critically and commercially successful get this deep of a discount so soon after its launch, and Split Fiction is perhaps the most fun you can have with a co-op game this year. It’s only the PS5 version that’s on sale, though, so no luck for Xbox Series X/S or Switch 2 owners.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Platforms — PlayStation 5
- Price — $39.99 (Normally $69.99, 43% off)
- Link
One of last year’s best games, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, is also one of the best Prime Day deals available, with its physical PS5 release down to just $40. This is the lowest price we’ve seen Final Fantasy VII Rebirth hit, which makes it a no-brainer to grab during the Prime Day event if you have yet to play it. As a bonus, Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade for PS5 is also on a heavy Prime Day discount, giving you reason to grab both and experience Square Enix’s ambitious retelling of the Final Fantasy VII saga.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Platforms — PlayStation 5
- Price — $39.88 (Normally $69.99, 43% off)
- Link
It’s pretty rare for first-party games to get heavy discounts as part of a third-party retailer’s sale event, but Amazon currently has Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PS5 down to just $40 as part of Prime Day. This normally $70 PS5 exclusive is one of the console’s best action games, making it almost essential for any PS5 owner to grab while it’s on sale. Yes, Spider-Man 2 does have a PC version, but that port’s technical state leaves a lot to be desired, making the PS5 original the definitive release of one of this generation’s best superhero games.
The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy
- Platforms — Nintendo Switch
- Price — $49.99 (Normally $59.99, 17% off)
- Link
Just after getting its first-ever discount as part of the Steam Summer Sale, Amazon’s Prime Day event is offering an even better deal on The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. This unique hybrid between TRPG and visual novel is already being talked about as one of the year’s best games for fans of either genre (something I can definitely confirm), and its current 17% off discount on Amazon makes it a no-brainer to pick up while its down to just $50 from its normal $60 MSRP.
