Every Game New to Xbox Game Pass for July 2025
Despite Microsoft’s gaming division being affected by the company’s recent layoffs, the Xbox Game Pass service continues to be a strong revenue generator. A large part of Game Pass’ success boils down to the games it adds each month, with July 2025’s offerings bringing several day 1 releases on the service alongside the return of some past favorites. As usual, some games will only be available on the premium Game Pass subscription tiers, while others are included at the Standard tier and available to all Game Pass subscribers.

The beginning of the month kicked off with a pair of releases for the Standard tier of Game Pass, with Little Nightmares II as the marquee title for the month’s additions. A day after the Xbox Game Pass service kicked off its July offerings with two great sequels, another pair of sequels joined courtesy of Square Enix’s continued push onto the platform. It’s now available on Xbox and PC as part of Game Pass, joining several other Square Enix titles new to Microsoft’s console.

- Xbox Game Pass Arrival Date — July 2, 2025
Legend of Mana isn’t the only game in the Mana series arriving on Game Pass this July, with Trials of Mana launching alongside it on the same day. Trials is the third mainline game in the Mana series and a bona fide classic from Square’s 16-bit era that got a ground-up remake for all platforms except Xbox in 2020, but eventually made its way to Xbox consoles in 2024. Now, players at all subscription tiers can try out Trials of Mana on Game Pass to discover that it’s one of the better action RPGs of recent years.

- Developer — Clever Endeavor Games
- Publisher — Clever Endeavor Games

- Xbox Game Pass Arrival Date — July 3, 2025
Clever Endeavor’s Ultimate Chicken Horse is a riotously good time that’s a perfect fit for the Xbox Game Pass service, and it’s now available for all tiers, including Standard. After previously having earned a bit of a cult following from its inclusion on Game Pass, The Ascent is now back on the service once again, and this time it’s arriving with a slew of updates and post-launch content that make it an even better addition to the service than it was originally. The Ascent is like what you might get if you mixed Cyberpunk 2077 with Diablo, and its visuals and gameplay position it as one of the best modern twin-stick shooters.
Minami Lane

- Developer — Doot, Blibloop, Zaku

If you’re a Game Pass subscriber and are in the mood for a relaxing cozy game, look no further than Minami Lane. This beloved indie title is a short, 2-3 hour experience that sees you build and manage a city street, all while interacting with the business owners, inhabitants, and their pets. The experience is capped off with an incredibly charming art style and plenty of whimsical humor, and it’s another great addition to Game Pass’ growing library of low-stakes titles to unwind with.

For Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, you have access to the latest remake package in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series that brings together the beloved third and fourth games in the series. As a reminder, both Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 are two of the highest-rated games of all time, and Iron Galaxy has done a commendable job bringing both games together under a single umbrella, complete with merging gameplay elements of each and incorporating mechanics into THPS 3‘s parks that weren’t introduced until THPS 4.
High on Life

- Developer — Squanch Games
- Publisher — Squanch Games
- Review Aggregate Score — 67% (Mixed or Average)
- Xbox Game Pass Arrival Date — July 15, 2025
Much like The Ascent, High on Life is a title that found a cult audience on Game Pass before leaving the service, and it’s now back as part of Xbox Game Pass’ July additions. For the uninitiated, High on Life is a humorous sci-fi FPS where the player’s weapon talks to you and provides commentary on the action unfolding on screen, featuring the voice of Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland. Notably, it’s back on Game Pass following the announcement of an in-development sequel at the Xbox Games Showcase.
RoboCop: Rogue City
- Release Date — November 2, 2023
- Developer — Teyon
- Publisher — Nacon
- Review Aggregate Score — 76% (Generally Favorable)
- Xbox Game Pass Arrival Date — July 17, 2025
Teyon’s RoboCop: Rogue City may very well be the best video game to ever feature the iconic 1980s sci-fi hero, and it’s now available on all subscription tiers of Game Pass. If you’re looking for a first-person shooter with some phenomenal combat and are a fan of the first two RoboCop films, you’ll be in very good hands with Rogue City, as it does a better job of handling the characters and world than RoboCop 3 or the 2014 remake of RoboCop.

- Xbox Game Pass Arrival Date — July 17, 2025 (Not available on Game Pass Standard)
Take one part Five Nights at Freddy’s and add a dash of Sesame Street, and you have My Friendly Neighborhood. This highly entertaining and creepy survival horror game pits you as a repairman sent to deal with a bunch of malfunctioning puppets on the set of the “Friendly Neighborhood” show (an obvious reference to Sesame Street) and has a very positive player reception on Steam. Do note, however, that My Friendly Neighborhood is one of several newer games on Game Pass that is only available for Ultimate tier subscribers.

- Developer — Metal Head Games
- Publisher — Spiral Up Games
- Review Aggregate Score — 85% (Generally Favorable)
- Xbox Game Pass Arrival Date — July 18, 2025 (Not available on Game Pass Standard)
Another new release that’s exclusive to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier is Back to the Dawn, which is a unique hybrid of RPG and third-person immersive sim that takes place inside a prison for anthropomorphic animals. The title promises a good amount of player agency in how you choose to form alliances, make choices, and navigate the complex world of the prison, all while offering up plenty of opportunities for replay.
Abiotic Factor

- Developer — Deep Field Games
- Publisher — Playstack
- Review Aggregate Score — N/A (Early Access)
- Xbox Game Pass Arrival Date — July 22, 2025 (Not available on Game Pass Standard)
Hugely popular survival game Abiotic Factor is joining the Game Pass service in Early Access ahead of its planned 1.0 launch, and it’s another title that’s arguably a perfect fit for Xbox’s subscription model. Abiotic Factor challenges up to 6 players to craft and maintain an underground research base while they fend off interdimensional threats and outside military interference, and its 1.0 launch is just right around the corner.
Wheel World

- Developer — Messhof
- Publisher — Annapurna Interactive
- Review Aggregate Score — N/A
- Xbox Game Pass Arrival Date — July 23, 2025 (Not available on Game Pass Standard)
Annapurna Interactive is no stranger when it comes to picking out charming hidden gem indie games to publish, and its latest title, Wheel World, looks like it could fit that bill. While the core of Wheel World is its bicycle racing, there’s also a heavy emphasis on narrative, with the player character completing these races and exploring the world on the back of his bike to try and stave off a world-ending disaster.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
- Release Date — July 24, 2025
- Developer — Leenzee Games
- Publisher — 505 Games
- Review Aggregate Score — N/A
- Xbox Game Pass Arrival Date — July 24, 2025 (Not available on Game Pass Standard)
One of the biggest day-one drops on Xbox Game Pass for July is Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. Wuchang is a Chinese mythology-inspired Soulslike game that is coincidentally arriving on Xbox right as the platform is finally getting last year’s Black Myth Wukong, and it’ll be interesting to see which one Xbox players prefer, considering how many similarities the two titles share.
Grounded 2
- Release Date — July 29, 2025
- Developer — Obsidian Entertainment, Eidos Montreal
- Publisher — Microsoft Game Studios
- Review Aggregate Score — N/A (Early Access)
- Xbox Game Pass Arrival Date — July 29, 2025 (Not available on Game Pass Standard)
Another Early Access survival game coming to Game Pass Ultimate this month is Grounded 2, which was only just revealed at June’s Xbox Games Showcase. The sequel to the excellent Grounded, Grounded 2 will be joining Game Pass on both PC and Xbox as an Early Access title for the foreseeable future, allowing Obsidian to gather valuable feedback and continue to develop the game with the guidance and input of the community.
