Every Reveal From The Game Awards 2025
As predicted, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 swept last night’s Game Awards ceremony, walking away with a record-setting number of awards that included the coveted Game of the Year honors. But Sandfall Interactive’s incredible RPG wasn’t the only winner from last night’s ceremonies. From the pre-show experience all the way through to the end of the broadcast, viewers were treated to one of the most jam-packed slates of reveals, world premieres, and release date announcements for some incredible-looking games arriving in 2026 and beyond. The Game Awards 2025 was one for the record books in more ways than one, and a large part of its success boils down to the impressive slate of reveals it had in store for viewers.
The Free Shepherd
- Developer — Frame Interactive
- Publisher — Frame Interactive
- Genre — Adventure, Immersive Sim
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5
- Projected Release Date — 2027
First up was The Free Shepherd, an open-world adventure and exploration game where you get to step into the shoes of a working sheepdog in a beautifully stylized world. This one is set to arrive for PC and PS5 sometime in 2027, so it’s still a ways off.
Decrepit
- Developer — Jamerdal Games
- Publisher — Three Friends
- Genre — Action RPG, Soulslike, Dungeon-Crawler
- Platforms — PC
- Projected Release Date — 2026
Next up was Decrepit, a very cool-looking first-person dungeon-crawler with what appeared to be some chunky combat and plenty of ghoulish enemies. It seems like we’re coming full-circle to Soulslikes digging back even further in the FromSoftware catalog to reference the studio’s older games like King’s Field.
Audio Mech
- Developer — Dylan Fitterer
- Publisher — Dylan Fitterer
- Genre — Action, Shooter, Music/Rhythm
- Platforms — PC
- Projected Release Date — TBA
The musically-themed shooter is a genre we simply don’t get enough of, and Audio Mech is here to address that. This side-scrolling action and shooting game allows you to wield and power up different weapons based on the music you play, connecting seamlessly to your computer’s library of tunes. Imagine Rez but with a custom soundtrack. There’s a demo out right now to try.
Pragmata
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — Action-Adventure
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — April 24, 2026
We finally got a release date for Capcom’s Pragmata last night, but that wasn’t all. We were also treated to the launch of a new playable demo and the news that the game will be arriving on Switch 2 simultaneously with all other platforms. This was just the first of some excellent announcements from Capcom.
Solasta 2
- Developer — Tactical Adventures
- Publisher — Tactical Adventures
- Genre — RPG
- Platforms — PC
- Projected Release Date — March 12, 2026
After its initial debut at last year’s show, Solasta II made another appearance at The Game Awards 2025 to finally reveal its Early Access release date. PC players can dive into this fantastic and immersive (if the demo is any indication) TRPG on March 12.
TankRat
- Developer — Alpha Channel
- Publisher — Kepler Interactive
- Genre — Action, Vehicular Combat
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5
- Projected Release Date — 2026
Kepler Interactive is partnering with developer Alpha Channel to release TankRat sometime in 2026, which is an interesting post-apocalyptic vehicular combat game where players get to control and upgrade a modular tank and pit it against unique enemy designs that blend technology with organic matter.
Bradley the Badger
- Developer — Day 4 Night
- Publisher — Day 4 Night
- Genre — Action-Adventure
- Platforms — PC
- Projected Release Date — TBA
Actor Evan Peters is lending his voice to the main character of Bradley the Badger, the new open-world action-adventure game from Day 4 Night. Notably, Day 4 Night employs many of the key staff who worked on the Mario + Rabbids games, which means Bradley the Badger is in very capable hands.
Stupid Never Dies
- Developer — GPTRACK50
- Publisher — GPTRACK50
- Genre — Action RPG, Hack and Slash
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5
- Projected Release Date — 2026
The next trailer at The Game Awards 2025 was for Stupid Never Dies, which looked very similar to something you’d see from Suda 51, thanks to some obvious Lolipop Chainsaw influence. This horror-themed hack-and-slash game is coming to PC and PS5 sometime in 2026.
Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic
- Developer — Arcanaut Studios
- Publisher — Lucasfilm Games
- Genre — RPG
- Platforms — TBD
- Projected Release Date — TBA
Next up was a surprise reveal of the spiritual successor to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Dubbed Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, this third game in the legendary line of Star Wars RPGs is being helmed by original director Casey Hudson and developed by a brand-new studio. No gameplay footage yet, but the signs are pointing to the Force being strong with this one.
Divinity
- Developer — Larian Studios
- Publisher — Larian Studios
- Genre — RPG
- Platforms — PC
- Projected Release Date — TBA
Weeks of speculation regarding the identity of the strange statue outside the venue where The Game Awards 2025 was set to take place were finally addressed last night when the debut trailer for Divinity dropped. The next game in Larian Studios’ iconic RPG franchise, Divinity is reportedly the developer’s biggest and most immersive RPG yet, even more so than Baldur’s Gate 3.
4Loop
- Developer — Bad Robot Games
- Publisher — PlayStation Publishing
- Genre — Action Roguelike, Shooter
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5
- Projected Release Date — TBA
Director JJ Abrams took to the stage last night to help reveal the next title from the game development arm of his production company, Bad Robot. Dubbed 4:Loop, it’s an action roguelike shooter with a focus on co-op play that features some obvious gameplay nods to classics like Left 4 Dead and Back 4 Blood. The debut trailer was awesome, and it’s going to be a Sony first-party title exclusive to PC and PS5.
Coven of the Chicken Foot
- Developer — Wildflower Interactive
- Publisher — Wildflower Interactive
- Genre — Adventure
- Platforms — PC
- Projected Release Date — TBA
Imagine The Legend of Zelda mixed with a Studio Ghibli film, and you have something close to the next reveal of the night, Coven of the Chicken Foot. This compelling adventure game puts you in the shoes of an aging witch and a strange supernatural companion as you adventure across and explore a beautiful, hand-drawn world.
Ontos
- Developer — Frictional Games
- Publisher — Frictional Games
- Genre — Adventure, Survival Horror
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — 2026
The next game from Amnesia developer Frictional Games got a reveal last night, with Ontos set to arrive sometime in 2026 for PC and other modern platforms, bar the Switch 2. Ontos is a first-person sci-fi horror adventure game that should be right in line with what fans of that particular genre have come to expect.
Resident Evil Requiem
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — Survival Horror
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — February 27, 2026
Probably the worst-kept secret in the gaming industry, the newest trailer for Resident Evil Requiem finally pulled back the curtain to officially reveal that players would be once again taking control of Leon Kennedy in the series’ 9th entry. Interestingly, Leon’s segments are reportedly more action-oriented, while the primary protagonist Grace’s are more survival-focused.
Order of the Sinking Star
- Developer — Thekla, Inc.
- Publisher — Arc Games
- Genre — Adventure, Puzzle
- Platforms — PC
- Projected Release Date — TBA
Braid and The Witness creator Jonathan Blow’s studio, Thekla, announced its next game last night, and — shocker — it’s another fantastic-looking puzzle game. Order of the Sinking Star takes on a new perspective from its predecessors (overhead versus Braid‘s side-scrolling and The Witness‘ first-person) and seems to incorporate some sokoban-style block pushing. Sign us up.
Exodus
- Developer — Archetype Entertainment
- Publisher — Wizards of the Coast
- Genre — Action RPG
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — 2027
Sci-fi action RPG Exodus continues to look excellent, and we got a new extended look at gameplay last night that only further underscored how much inspiration the game is clearly taking from the Mass Effect trilogy. Still no confirmed release date outside of “early 2027”, but the preview footage is making it seem like it’ll be a fitting experience for those who miss the old BioWare.
Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons
- Developer — Invoke Studios
- Publisher — Wizards of the Coast
- Genre — Action RPG
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — 2027
Exodus isn’t the only game from Wizards of the Coast’s game publishing arm to get a trailer last night, with the studio also pulling back the curtain to reveal Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons. No real look at the gameplay yet, but the cinematic trailer does seem promising when it comes to the game’s atmosphere and setting in the D&D universe.
Screamer
- Developer — Milestone s.r.l.
- Publisher — Milestone s.r.l.
- Genre — Driving/Racing, Vehicular Combat
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — March 26, 2026
About as close to a new Initial D game as we’re likely to ever get, the trailer for Screamer last night looked incredible. This high-tension street racing game blends elements of vehicular combat into its driving, along with some high-quality story-driven segments that rival the production values you’d expect from a top-tier anime.
Control: Resonant
- Developer — Remedy Entertainment
- Publisher — Remedy Entertainment
- Genre — Action RPG
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — 2026
I’d bet that no one expected Remedy to reveal the sequel to Control last night, but that’s exactly what we were treated to. Control: Resonant is the follow-up to the excellent Control and takes a decidedly different approach with its combat, focusing more on melee action than the shooting of the original. The sooner we can go hands-on with this one, the better.
Gang of Dragon
- Developer — Nagoshi Studio
- Publisher — Nagoshi Studio
- Genre — Action-Adventure, Beat ’em Up, Shooter
- Platforms — TBD
- Projected Release Date — TBA
Speaking of games we can’t wait to play, Nagoshi Studio (the new development house founded by some of the key staff from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise) debuted its first game last night. Gang of Dragon is an ultra-violent third-person action game that blends melee brawling with shooting and stars Korean actor Ma Dong-seok.
Street Fighter
Just about the entire main cast of the upcoming Street Fighter film adaptation took to the stage last night to help premiere the movie’s trailer, which looks to capture the iconic look and feel of the Street Fighter II arcade cabinet in all the best ways. It seems like we may finally be getting a great live-action version of this iconic fighting game franchise.
Tomb Raider: Catalyst
- Developer — Crystal Dynamics, Flying Wild Hog
- Publisher — Amazon Game Studios
- Genre — Action-Adventure
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — 2027
The next block brought not one, but two trailers for two new Tomb Raider games. First up was Tomb Raider: Catalyst, which is still a ways off from release but already looking like a strong continuation of Crystal Dynamics’ work on the franchise. But that wasn’t all…
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
- Developer — Crystal Dynamics, Flying Wild Hog
- Publisher — Amazon Game Studios
- Genre — Action-Adventure
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — TBA
In addition to Tomb Raider: Catalyst, Crystal Dynamics is also working with developer Flying Wild Hog to produce a remake of the original 1996 Tomb Raider. And while the original Tomb Raider has been remade before, the visual fidelity of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis makes it seem as if it may take the crown as the definitive version of Lara’s first adventure.
Forest 3
- Developer — Endnight Games
- Publisher — Endnight Games
- Genre — Survival
- Platforms — TBD
- Projected Release Date — TBA
Next up was the surprise reveal of the third game in Endnight’s The Forest series. Forest 3 is yet another first-person survival game, but its setting and enemies are decidedly more strange and sci-fi-leaning than its more horror-adjacent predecessors.
Invincible VS
- Developer — Quarter Up
- Publisher — Skybound Games
- Genre — Fighting
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — April 30, 2026
We already knew about the upcoming fighting game based on Image Comics’ Invincible, Invincible VS, but last night the title got a release date announcement and a deeper dive into its different characters and story. As you’d expect from both the comic and the animated series, Invincible VS looks to be an incredibly violent and kinetic fighting game.
Orbitals
- Developer — Shapefarm
- Publisher — Kepler Interactive
- Genre — Action Platformer, Co-Op
- Platforms — Switch 2
- Projected Release Date — TBA
Switch 2 owners should be very excited about Orbitals, a new anime-inspired co-op game that takes more than a few cues from the likes of It Takes Two and Split Fiction while featuring some absolutely breathtaking art and animations. The sooner we find out more about this title, the better.
Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred
- Developer — Blizzard Entertainment
- Publisher — Blizzard Entertainment
- Genre — ARPG
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — April 28, 2026
As someone who bounced off of Diablo IV after Season 3, even I have to admit that the trailer for the Lord of Hatred expansion looked incredible. Lord of Hatred drops next April and includes not one, but two new classes, including the long-awaited return of the Paladin. As a bonus, players who preorder the expansion get immediate access to the Paladin class.
No Law
- Developer — Neon Giant
- Publisher — Krafton
- Genre — FPS, Action RPG
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — TBA
The Ascent developer Neon Giant already proved it could make an incredible cyberpunk shooter, and now, it’s taking that skill and upping the production values to make what appears to be its own take on Cyberpunk 2077. No Law is a visually stunning first-person shooter and action RPG that takes the best parts of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Ascent and merges them into one of the coolest-looking upcoming games.
Total War: Warhammer 40,000
- Developer — Creative Assembly
- Publisher — Sega
- Genre — RTS
- Platforms — PC
- Projected Release Date — TBA
Fans of RTS games collectively rejoiced last night when we finally got the confirmation that not only is the rumored Warhammer 40,000 Total War game real, but that it looks incredible. There’s no set release date for Total War: Warhammer 40,000 yet, but it sits right alongside the upcoming new entry in the Dawn of War series as an unmissable RTS experience for Warhammer fans.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve
- Developer — Bandai Namco Aces
- Publisher — Bandai Namco Entertainment
- Genre — Action, Flight Simulation
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — 2026
The last few announcements of the show were some of the biggest and best, beginning with the reveal of the eighth game in the long-running Ace Combat series. Ace Combat 8 is set to arrive sometime next year for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and it’s somehow even more visually impressive and action-packed than the already great Ace Combat 7.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer
- Developer — Fuse Games
- Publisher — Secret Mode
- Genre — Driving/Racing
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — 2026
After already getting one incredible Star Wars announcement, viewers were treated to another near the end of the broadcast with the trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer. Galactic Racer is being developed by Fuse Games, which includes several veteran developers who worked on the Burnout series. If that’s not a great omen for how Galactic Racer will turn out, I don’t know what is.
Phantom Blade Zero
- Developer — S-GAME Studio
- Publisher — S-GAME Publishing
- Genre — Action RPG, Soulslike
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5
- Projected Release Date — September 9, 2026
The extended gameplay trailer and release date announcement for Phantom Blade Zero only confirmed what most have long felt about the game: that it’s set to be one of the most promising upcoming action titles and could very well be the next Black Myth Wukong in terms of its critical and commercial success. September can’t come soon enough.
Mega Man Dual Override
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — Action-Platformer
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — 2027
Yes, that’s right. After a decade of silence from the franchise (outside the occasional compilation title), Mega Man is BACK in 2027 with Mega Man Dual Override. Dual Override is a classically-styled side-scrolling Mega Man game that looks like a modern rendition of one of the classic mainline entries, and observant viewers have even spotted what appear to be some indications of possible nonlinear exploration and progression-gating. Mega Man Metroidvania?! Yes please!
Highguard
- Developer — Wildlight Entertainment
- Publisher — Wildlight Entertainment
- Genre — FPS, Hero Shooter
- Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Projected Release Date — January 26, 2026
The final trailer of the show was for next year’s Highguard, which is set to launch in January and be a free-to-play title. This first-person hero shooter comes from Wildlight Entertainment, which is a newer studio formed by former Respawn Entertainment employees. With a development pedigree that includes the likes of Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends, Highguard could very well be something special.
