Everything Announced at Pokemon Presents July 2025
Today’s Pokémon Presents showcase turned out to be well worth the anticipation from fans, showcasing a ton of upcoming and exciting projects in the Pokémon universe alongside a huge new dump of info for this year’s Pokémon Legends: Z-A. While we’ve known about the July 2025 Pokémon Presents showcase for some time, the contents of the presentation remained a mystery. Even though it was a little light on game-related announcements and focused more heavily on other aspects of the IP like animated series and the Pokémon Trading Card Game, today’s Pokémon Presents still brought plenty of great information to the table, including a shadow drop of a new series title for the Switch and mobile devices.
Pokémon World Championships 2025 Event Details
The presentation began with an overview of the upcoming Pokémon World Championships in Anaheim, California, scheduled to take place from August 15 to 17, 2025. Players from all over the world will be coming to compete against one another in events related to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Pokémon Unite, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and more. As part of the Pokémon Presents showcase, the chairman of the World Championships was able to reveal the Paradise Resort promo card that attendees and competitors will be able to obtain during the event, as well as share details on the other giveaways that both viewers and attendees will be eligible for.
Pokémon Concierge is Getting New Episodes
Next up in the showcase was the announcement that Netflix’s Pokémon Concierge series will be getting more episodes on September 4. This charming and lighthearted stop-motion animation series follows the adventures of main character Haru as she works at an island resort where vacationers and Pokémon live side-by-side, and the new season sees her become more accustomed to her new role while also embarking on some more adventures in self-discovery. The first season was an excellent show with plenty to enjoy for Pokémon fans both young and old, and the new episodes look much the same.
The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu
Following the reveal that Pokémon Concierge would be getting new episodes, the Pokémon Presents showcase for July 2025 pulled back the curtain to reveal another upcoming stop-motion animation series set in the Pokémon universe. Helmed by none other than Aardman Studio (the same minds behind classics like Wallace and Gromit), The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu got a brief trailer in which we were able to see Aardman Studios’ trademark animation and sense of humor on full display. The only downside? We’ll have to wait until 2027 to get to see the show itself.
PokéPark Kanto
One of the Pokémon Company’s most ambitious projects yet is the planned real-world theme park centering around the series’ original region of Kanto, with PokePark Kanto now set to open in early 2026 and tickets going on sale later this year. The park itself will be set within Japan’s Yomiuriland theme park in the Kanagawa Prefecture (specifically, Kawasaki City), and aims to deliver a live-action Pokémon experience unlike anything else before it. While we didn’t get any glimpses of how the park will achieve this, we did get to see several models showcasing the park’s plans and what attendees can expect, including a full forest section where it will be possible to interact with swarms of wild Pokémon.
Pokemon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale
Incredibly popular Pokémon mobile game Pokémon GO is about to wrap up its annual Fest event for 2025, and the Pokémon Presents showcase revealed some details about the Max Finale that will close out ceremonies with new Pokémon and more. The highlight of the Max Finale event is the global debut of Legendary Pokémon Eternatus in Pokémon GO, which should see players eagerly rushing out in hopes of catching one.
Pokémon Masters, Pokémon Cafe Remix, Pokémon Sleep, and Pokémon Unite Updates
Pokémon GO is far from the only mobile Pokémon app getting updates, though. Next up in the Pokémon Presents showcase was a quick rundown of everything new coming to several other Pokémon apps in the company’s lineup, with Pokémon Masters, Pokémon Café ReMix, Pokémon Sleep, and Pokémon Unite each getting exciting content updates over the next several weeks.
- Carmine and Sinistcha are coming to Pokémon Masters starting July 29
- Lapras will be getting a 5-star Sea Captain outfit, and other sea-themed decorations and outfits will be coming to Pokémon Café ReMix on July 23
- November 2025 will see the arrival of the new Amber Canyon area to the Pokémon Sleep app
- Latios and Latias are joining Pokémon Unite on July 18 and August 8, respectively, as part of the game’s 4th anniversary. Additionally, a new Electrode Volleyball game type is coming soon
Pokémon Trading Card Game: Mega Evolution
The next reveal in the Pokémon Presents showcase was the announcement of the next major set update for the incredibly popular Pokémon Trading Card Game, with the new Mega Evolution set arriving on September 26. New sets in the Pokémon TCG have been almost instantaneously selling out, so keep an eye out at your local game shop (LGS) or big box retailers like GameStop for pre-order information if you’re hoping to get some of these awesome-looking cards.
Pokémon Friends
One of the most exciting announcements from the July 2025 Pokémon Presents was the reveal and shadow drop of the new game Pokémon Friends. This collection of puzzle-centric mini-games is aimed at delivering quick, satisfying challenges that provide players with brain teasers and then reward them with virtual Pokémon plushes that they can use to decorate a series of virtual rooms like trophy cases. The title is currently available for Nintendo Switch as a digital-only download as well as on both iOS and Android mobile devices.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Nintendo Switch 2 Update
Interestingly enough, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet already ran significantly better on the Switch 2 than on the original Switch without an official update, but both titles are now set to receive a free download that improves their performance on Nintendo’s new console even further. Launching today and free for all Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players, the Switch 2 update aims at improving both performance and visuals, offering a more consistent experience that looks sharper in both handheld mode and while the Switch is docked.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Upcoming Tera Raids and Other Content
In addition to the free Switch 2 upgrade for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the Pokémon Presents showcase also revealed that several new events are coming to the game to help entice players to return to the Paldea region. Beginning on July 23, a new series of Tera Raids is starting alongside a new wave of different Pokémon type outbreaks, and players can also claim a new free outfit for their trainer during this time. The official windows for each event are as follows:
- Wo-Chien’s Tera Raid runs July 23 to August 3
- Chien-Pao’s Tera Raid runs August 4 to August 17
- Ting-Lu’s Tera Raid runs August 18 to August 31
- Chi-Yu’s Tera Raid runs September 1 to September 14
During these same windows, players can experience outbreaks of Grass, Ice, Ground, and Fire types.
Pokémon Champions
Next up in the showcase was an extended preview of the upcoming Pokémon Champions game, which focuses solely on battling and lets players import their existing Pokémon rosters from the Pokémon Home app or recruit new ones within the game. It appears to use the same visuals and UI from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but the ability to import your existing roster from Pokémon Home is huge and sure to be a massive selling point for dedicated Pokémon fans to pick up the game and give its PvP battling a shot.
Tons of New Info on Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Closing out the Pokémon Presents showcase was a massive info dump on Pokémon Legends: Z-A that only served to make the game look even better than it already did. Set within the new, urban metropolis of Lumios City, Pokémon Legends: Z-A sees players join up with Team MZ and work alongside the city’s best detective to solve a mystery, all while trying to climb the ranks of the city’s Z-A battle royale to become the top Pokémon Trainer. Pokémon Legends: Arceus was one of the best Pokémon games in years, and seeing the footage of Z-A running on Switch 2 hardware seems to indicate that it could take its place as one of the best entries into the franchise in over a decade.
