Gaming industry figure Geoff Keighly’s Summer Game Fest showcase aired yesterday, continuing its place as the “new E3” since the discontinuation of the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo and bringing a slew of incredible announcements. After the incredible PlayStation State of Play showcase just earlier in the week, expectations were high for Summer Game Fest 2025, and it’s safe to say it delivered. There were a surprising amount of new games showcased, some deeper dives into highly anticipated titles coming soon, release date confirmations for previously revealed games, and the show then closed with the grand reveal of what’s now one of the most anticipated titles of 2026: Resident Evil: Requiem.

Mortal Shell II

Kicking things off was the reveal of a sequel to the excellent indie Soulslike game Mortal Shell. Appropriately named Mortal Shell II, Cold Symmetry’s follow-up to the original Mortal Shell looks to take its art direction and setting in a more gothic horror direction and features some slick-looking combat.

Death Star Sabotage Event in Fortnite

Epic Games’ Fortnite is kicking off its next major live event today, the Death Star Sabotage, which was revealed last night as part of the Summer Game Fest showcase. The event ties in with the current season of Fortnite, which features plenty of other Star Wars content.

Death Stranding 2

Considering Geoff Keighly seems to be Hideo Kojima’s number one fan, it was almost a given that we’d get some more info on Death Stranding 2 at Summer Game Fest ahead of the title’s release later in the month. Sure enough, we got some new story-specific content as well as a message from Kojima himself regarding what he hopes players take away from the game.

Chronicles: Medieval

Not content to let Warhorse have all the fun with its Kingdom Come: Deliverance series, Raw Power Games revealed its upcoming medieval life sandbox, Chronicles: Medieval, at Summer Game Fest 2025. This one looks to be more strategy-focused in its combat than KCD and features more large-scale medieval warfare.

Sonic Racing: Cross Worlds

The Sonic Racing games have always been solid alternatives to Nintendo’s Mario Kart, and we got an extended preview and release date for the previously revealed Sonic Racing: Cross Worlds at the Summer Game Fest showcase. Even with Mario Kart World having just dropped, Sonic Racing: Cross Worlds looks pretty enticing, especially with its multiple Sega character crossovers.

Code Vein II

Bandai Namco surprise-revealed the sequel to Code Vein at the Summer Game Fest showcase, with Code Vein II currently in development and set to arrive sometime in 2026. The trailer seems to indicate we’re in store for some more anime soulslike combat with another vampire-centric story and characters.

End of Abyss

End of Abyss got yet another preview trailer at Summer Game Fest 2025, and it only served to make us more excited for the atmospheric, horror-tinged top-down action game.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire

After an initial reveal years ago, we finally got an update on the excellent-looking Mouse: P.I. For Hire at last night’s showcase, along with the reveal that Troy Baker would be providing voice talent for the game. This 1920s cartoon-like immersive sim already looked great, and it’s shaping up to be even better when it finally arrives at a to-be-determined date.

Game of Thrones: War for Westeros

A series like Game of Thrones is practically tailor-made for a large-scale RTS game, and that’s precisely what the series is getting with War for Westeros. It’s not due until 2026, but the gameplay shown off in the reveal trailer looks great.

Atomic Heart II

Despite not even having finished development on all the planned DLC for the original Atomic Heart, Mundfish dropped trailers for not one, but two games at Summer Game Fest 2025, with one of them being Atomic Heart II. It’s still very early on in development, but its debut trailer was jam-packed with all kinds of weird sci-fi goodness.

The Cube

After dropping the trailer for Atomic Heart II, Mundfish debuted its other in-development title, the incredibly ambitious The Cube. The Cube is an open-world MMORPG that looks to feature PvEvP combat and another richly detailed sci-fi setting on par with what you’d expect from the makers of Atomic Heart.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion

Tribute Games’ upcoming Marvel beat ’em up Cosmic Invasion got a new trailer at the Summer Game Fest, and it continues to look like a perfect successor to the studio’s work on the excellent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. This one can’t come soon enough.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

The upcoming new entry in the long-dormant Onimusha series, Way of the Sword, got yet another trailer at Summer Game Fest 2025, and it continues to look incredible ahead of its release next year.

Felt That: Boxing

Part Punch-Out!! and part Jim Henson’s The Muppets, Felt That: Boxing is a surprisingly vulgar and hilarious upcoming boxing game with a photorealistic art style that juxtaposes nicely with its Muppet-like characters. No release date for this one yet, but it’s already looking promising.

Killer Inn

Square Enix’s lone reveal at the Summer Game Fest showcase was the intriguing Killer Inn, which looks to be a sort of deduction-based adventure game that plays out similarly to the iconic board game Clue.

ARC Raiders

Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders is fresh off a glowing round of previews and an Alpha playtest where players walked away hungry for more of this upcoming extraction shooter, and the title finally got a confirmed release date last night of October 30.

Dune: Awakening

Those who purchased the more premium editions of Dune: Awakening are currently able to play the game in Early Access ahead of its June 10 release, and the title received another trailer to commemorate the occasion. For survival game and Dune fans, Dune: Awakening looks pretty promising.

Chrono Odyssey

Chrono Studio’s Chrono Odyssey looks to be yet another take on the Soulslike genre, only it also happens to be an MMORPG. It’s an interesting blend that has yet to be really attempted, so it’ll be interesting to see how Chrono Odyssey lands when it eventually releases.

MIO: Memories In Orbit

Metroidvania fans have had the incredible-looking MIO: Memories in Orbit on their radar for quite some time, and the title got a brand-new trailer and a playable demo as part of Summer Game Fest. I’ve yet to dive in myself, but impressions so far are largely positive, especially where the game’s art style and atmosphere are concerned.

Out of Words

Epic Games Publishing’s first title of three to get a reveal trailer at Summer Game Fest was the unique-looking Out of Words, another stop-motion animation adventure game akin to titles like The Midnight Walk but with a much more lighthearted atmosphere.

Mafia: The Old Country

The latest game in the Mafia series, Mafia: The Old Country, got another trailer last night to showcase more of its characters and story elements, which look to do its subject matter and gameplay justice.

LEGO Voyagers

The developers behind the excellent and heartfelt LEGO: Builders Journey are back with yet another charming take on the LEGO brand with LEGO Voyagers. No release date yet, but it already looks like it’ll be right up the alley of anyone who enjoyed Builders Journey.

Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny

A Nicktoons-branded action RPG was probably one of the last things I expected to see at Summer Game Fest, but GameMill is publishing just that with Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny. At the very least, you’ll get to hack-and-slash enemies as SpongeBob in a knight outfit.

Lies of P: Overture

One of the more surprising announcements of Summer Game Fest 2025 was the newest trailer for Lies of P‘s DLC Overture, which also dropped the bombshell that the expansion had been shadow-dropped and was immediately playable. It currently sits at a “Mostly Positive” 76% and I plan on diving in myself very soon.

Fractured Blooms

Here’s a unique one: psychological horror-meets-cozy sim game. Fractured Blooms is all about maintaining a homestead, farming, and cooking meals, all while sinister events unfold around you and begin to eat away at your sanity. Color me intrigued.

Jurassic World Evolution 3

Frontier Developments’ Jurassic Park-building simulator is back with a third entry in Jurassic World Evolution 3, and it looks to offer up some similar thrills to the first two games in the series, albeit with vastly improved visuals.

Mina the Hollower

Since its initial reveal a few years back, Yacht Club Games has been quiet about its follow-up to Shovel Knight, Mina the Hollower. That silence was finally broken last night with an excellent-looking new trailer and a playable demo on Steam, which I cannot wait to check out.

Deadpool VR

The rumors of a Deadpool game at Summer Game Fest turned out to be true, only they were pertaining to a VR title instead of a traditional experience. Still, Deadpool VR looks like it has the potential to be a killer app for the Meta Quest headset, and Neil Patrick Harris supplying the voice of the Merc With A Mouth doesn’t hurt.

Dying Light: The Beast

It’s been quite some time since the release of Dying Light 2, which makes the upcoming Dying Light: The Beast all the more exciting. After a previous reveal, the title got a new trailer last night along with the confirmation of an August 21 release date.

Mixtape

Anyone who played Beethoven and Dinosaur’s The Artful Escape knows how profound that game’s narrative and atmosphere are, even if it might be a little light on actual gameplay. The team is now back with the equally as compelling Mixtape, which is a coming-of-age tale about three teenage misfits that features some really cool-looking gameplay elements. This one definitely needs to be on the radar of anyone who likes narrative-led adventure games.

Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree

Brownies has quite the pedigree as a developer, with several of its key talent having previously worked on games in Square Enix’s Mana series. Its next game, Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, takes its expertise at crafting gorgeous worlds and fun action RPG combat and melds it with the structure of an action roguelike.

Acts of Blood

Last night’s reveal of Acts of Blood should immediately be ringing alarm bells for longtime beat ’em up fans as a modern take on the genre that errs more on the “beat up as many bad guys as possible” school of design rather than the calculated parry-heavy combat of a title like Sifu.

Scott Pilgrim EX

One reveal that came as quite the pleasant surprise at Summer Game Fest 2025 was the announcement of Tribute Games (who are currently working on Marvel Cosmic Invasion and fresh off Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge) is developing a sequel to the beloved Scott Pilgrim beat ’em up, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game.

MindsEye

Former Rockstar lead Leslie Benzies’ debut title, MindsEye, is set to release in just a few days, and it got yet another new trailer at Summer Game Fest as a final hype push.

007 x Hitman Crossover

Hitman: World of Assassination elusive target update

The Hitman series from IO Interactive is celebrating the reveal of the developer’s upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light, with a crossover event that sees Casino Royale villain LeChiffre (complete with Mads Mikkelsen’s likeness) appearing as an Elusive Target.

LEGO Party!

The incredibly fun-looking LEGO Party! made its debut at Summer Game Fest 2025, complete with a trailer that showed off all kinds of zany mini-games and multiplayer antics. Seems like this one will be a great title for fans of Mario Party or Fall Guys.

Wildgate

Moonshot Games’ Wildgate looks like what you’d get if you set multiplayer title Sea of Thieves in space, and its newest trailer from Summer Game Fest does a good job of selling you on the premise and its 20-player antics.

Blighted

Between the Guacamelee games, Severed, and Nobody Saves the World, DrinkBox Studios can basically do no wrong, and its next title looks to combine some of the best parts from all of its previous games into what could be its greatest work yet.Blighted is an isometric metroidvania similar to Death’s Door or Tunic, and its gorgeous visuals and excellent-looking combat are backed up by a compelling supernatural Wild West setting.

ILL

Team Clout’s ILL made what can only be described as a disturbing debut at Summer Game Fest, setting it up to be one of the most violent and unnerving first-person horror games in quite some time.

Mecha Break

Long-awaited F2P mech game Mecha Break finally got a new trailer and release date at Summer Game Fest, with this excellent-looking title arriving on July 1 and looking like an absolute blast.

Infinitesimals

An intriguing third-person shooter with a premise similar to films like Honey, I Shrunk the Kids or games like Grounded, Infinitesimals is doing some cool things with its setting that immediately put it on our radar of games to look out for.

Street Fighter 6 Season 3

Accompanied by a hilarious live-action trailer, Street Fighter 6 revealed its roster of upcoming playable fighters who will be arriving as part of Season/Year 3, with Sagat and C. Viper some very welcome returning favorites.

You could say that we might already have toomany hero shooters, but that isn’t stopping Night Street Games, which debuted Last Flag at Summer Game Fest 2025 as yet another upcoming entry in the genre.

Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver

It’s been quite some time since we last got a game based on one of the hip-hop genre’s most legendary groups, but the Wu-Tang Clan is set to get another title to its name with the upcoming Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver. We didn’t see much of its gameplay, but what was there looked very cool.

Into the Unwell

Taking a page out of Cuphead‘s book, Into the Unwell is an interesting-looking action-platformer game with some “rubber hose” animation visuals and a darkly comedic sense of humor about its misfit cartoon characters.

Splitgate 2 Battle Royale Mode

After releasing earlier in the day, Splitgate 2 developer 1047 games took to the stage at Summer Game Fest to announce that a battle royale mode was coming to the title.

Stranger Than Heaven

Resident Evil: Requiem

The bombshell reveal of Summer Game Fest 2025, complete with an earlier fake-out from Capcom, was none other than Resident Evil: Requiem as the ninth game in the series. With a brand-new protagonist in tow and some seriously creepy callbacks to Raccoon City shown off in the trailer, February 2026 can’t come soon enough.
