Everything Announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025

Outer Worlds 2

We already knew that Obsidian’s sequel to The Outer Worlds was on its way, but the Xbox Games Showcase brought a brand-new trailer full of gameplay and story details for The Outer Worlds 2 that also contained its official release date reveal of October 29. Notably, The Outer Wilds 2 seems to be one of the first titles to follow in Mario Kart World‘s footsteps as a $79.99 title.

High on Life 2

The FPS with the talking gun is back, with High on Life 2 set to arrive at some point in the not too distant future. The debut trailer from the Xbox Games Showcase was notably absent of any voice talent following original VA Justin Roiland’s legal troubles, so it will be interesting to see who steps into the role.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

The rumors of a new third game in the excellent Plague Tale series turned out to be true, with the next game in the franchise getting a reveal trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase. Set to arrive in 2026, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy already looks great.

ROG Xbox Ally

Microsoft’s plans to make a handheld were fairly well known despite not being officially revealed, but a recent rumor of those plans’ cancellation made yesterday’s reveal of the ROG Xbox Ally all the more surprising. While it does look just like an Xbox-branded ASUS ROG Ally, the fact that it has built in Game Pass support and the Xbox OS should see it become a legitimate competitor with the Steam Deck and Switch 2.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Xbox really put itself on the line yesterday with the companion announcement for its ROG Xbox Ally handheld, announcing that Hollow Knight: Silksong would definitely release before the end of 2025. Accompanying that announcement were some updates to Team Cherry’s website and the game’s Steam Store page, so maybe it’ll actually happen.

The Blood of Dawnwalker

The Xbox Games Showcase followed up the reveal of the ROG Xbox Ally and Silksong release window confirmation with the debut of Rebel Wolves’ new game, The Blood of Dawnwalker. This dark gothic vampire action game looks great, so it’ll be interesting to learn more about its gameplay loop in the near future.

Super Meat Boy 3D

The Super Meat Boy games are two of the greatest modern platformers, and now Team Meat is taking things into a brand new dimension with Super Meat Boy 3D. The gameplay footage shown off in the trailer looks amazing, and it seems like we can expect this one to be a good deal more difficult than most other 3D platformers.

Ninja Gaiden 4

• Release Date — October 20, 2025

We finally got a new trailer with plenty of great-looking gameplay footage for Ninja Gaiden 4, along with the reveal that the game has a confirmed release date of October 20, 2025. The next entry in the 3D Ninja Gaiden series can’t come soon enough after Ninja Gaiden II Black and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound teeing up a full-blown franchise revival.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants DLC

The excellent Indiana Jones and the Great Circle got a trailer for its first story DLC, The Order of Giants, and it’s set to arrive on September 4, 2025. Considering how great the base game is, this should be an easy pick-up for anyone who already owns Great Circle.

Beast of Reincarnation

• Release Date — 2026

One of the most exciting and unexpected reveals of the Xbox Games Showcase was the debut trailer for Beast of Reincarnation, a new action RPG from Pokémon developer Game Freak that looks like a blend between NieR: Automata and a FromSoftware game. It’s not set to arrive until sometime in 2026, but we can’t wait to learn more about this phenomenal-looking title.

Clockwork Revolution

Despite being previously revealed, we got a new trailer for Clockwork Revolution at yesterday’s showcase, and it continues to look like one of the most promising and unique single-player FPS titles (as well as a great holdover until Ken Levine’s next game, Judas). Still no release date, though.

Grounded 2

• Developer — Obsidian Entertainment
• Publisher — Xbox Game Studios
• Release Date — July 2025 (Early Access)

Obsidian’s Grounded is one of the more beloved survival games out there, and the developer surprise revealed its sequel at yesterday’s showcase. Even better, Grounded 2 will be launching into Early Access on PC and Xbox next month.

Cronos: The New Dawn

• Developer — Bloober Team
• Publisher — Bloober Team
• Release Date — 2025

Bloober Team’s Cronos: The New Dawn continues to look like one of the most promising upcoming survival horror games from every new bit of footage that gets shown off, with yesterday’s new trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase no different. While we don’t have a concrete release date yet, this Dead Space-inspired game is still targeting a 2025 launch window.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Seasons of the Worm Cult

• Release Date — June 18, 2025

The MMORPG spin-off of the Elder Scrolls games, The Elder Scrolls Online, is getting its next expansion on October 4. Dubbed Seasons of the Worm Cult, the update and content expansion are already live for PC players, but will arrive for PlayStation and Xbox on June 18.

Aphelion

DONTNOD revealed its next game at yesterday’s showcase, a tense stealth action game called Aphelion. As an astronaut stranded on a frozen and hostile planet, you have to try and rescue your partner before attempting an escape. Given DONTNOD’s penchant for strong narrative pull in its games, expect Aphelion to have a compelling mix of gameplay and story.

There Are No Ghosts At The Grand

Friday Sundae’s There Are No Ghosts At The Grand was definitely one of the more unique reveals at the Xbox Games Showcase. Hotel management sim by day and first-person ghostbusting adventure by night, There Are No Ghosts At The Grand looks to blend humor, supernatural thrills, and even a bit of musical theatre into something original. Plus, there’s a talking cat.

Age of Mythology Retold: Heavenly Spear

After releasing Age of Mythology: Retold late last year, Xbox Game Studios revealed the title’s next expansion, Heaven’s Spear, at the Xbox Games Showcase yesterday. No set release date yet, but it’s expected to arrive before the end of 2025.

Mudang: Two Hearts

Fans have been begging for Ubisoft to remake the original Splinter Cell for years, and Korean developer EVR Studio has stepped in to do what Ubisoft hasn’t with Mudang: Two Hearts. Essentially a modern-day version of the classic stealth action Splinter Cell games, Mudang is reportedly EVR Studio’s debut title, which is impressive considering the level of graphical fidelity on display.

Planet of Lana II

• Release Date — TBA

Meditative puzzle platformer Planet of Lana got a reveal trailer for its sequel, Planet of Lana II, at yesterday’s showcase. No release date yet, but it’s already looking visually impressive and atmospheric in ways similar to its predecessor.

Fallout 76: Gone Fission

• Release Date — June 3, 2025

The Fallout 76 fishing-themed content update, Gone Fission, is already live, but it got a deep-dive trailer to help promote it at the Xbox Games Showcase.

Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive

• Release Date — 2025

Anime fans are already calling Solo Leveling one of the year’s best series, and its video game adaptation isn’t looking too shabby either. Coming at some point in 2025, Solo Leveling: Arise is an action RPG that pulls directly from the events of the animated series.

Aniimo

• Publisher — Kingsglory
• Release Date — 2026

Pawprint Studio’s Aniimo made its debut yesterday at the Xbox Games Showcase and looks very similar to both Pokémon and Palworld. No set release date yet, but sign-ups for an open beta are currently live on the game’s website.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4

• Publisher — Activision
• Release Date — July 11, 2025

We’ve already seen plenty of footage for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, and we’ve also known its release date for some time now, but yesterday’s new trailer showed off some gameplay featuring the title’s Doomguy crossover to accompany the game dropping a playable demo ahead of its launch next month. Considering how great Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was, we can’t wait for this one.

At Fate’s End

Sundered and Spiritfarer developer Thunder Lotus revealed its next game, At Fate’s End, as part of the Xbox Games Showcase, and it’s already looking to follow in the footsteps of its predecessors with some gorgeous hand-drawn visuals and heavy emphasis on narrative.

Persona 4 Revival

• Release Date — TBA

Despite being one of the worst-kept secrets in the industry, there was nothing that could diminish the hype around finally seeing the Persona 4 remake in action yesterday at the Xbox Games Showcase. Dubbed Persona 4 Revival, this is a ground-up remake of one of the best games in the Persona series done in the style of Persona 5. Hopefully, it arrives sooner rather than later.

Sea of Thieves: Smuggler’s Tide

Season 16 of Sea of Thieves may have just ended, but Rare already has Season 17 ready and raring to go. No release date for the Smuggler’s Tide season and event yet, but the footage shown off in the trailer seems to indicate it’ll be heavily geared towards loot and treasure hunts.

Gears of War: Reloaded

The modern Gears of War remaster, Gears of War: Reloaded, continues to look excellent, and yesterday’s latest trailer also brought with it a confirmed release date for the game. Players can step into the shoes of Marcus Fenix all over again on August 26.

Invincible VS

• Publisher — Skybound Games
• Release Date — TBA

Not content to let Marvel have all the fun with its recently announced tag-team fighting game, Image and Skybound’s Invincible is getting its own fighting game with Invincible VS.

Final Fantasy is Coming to Xbox

Perhaps the most exciting reveal of the Xbox Games Showcase for RPG fans, Final Fantasy 7 Remake is finally coming to Xbox consoles. And to further celebrate the occasion, Final Fantasy XVI shadow dropped on Xbox yesterday, finally making good on Square Enix’s promise to make its flagship titles multi-platform.

Keeper

• Release Date — October 17, 2025

The penultimate trailer of the Xbox Games Showcase was for Double Fine’s latest game, Keeper, which also has a surprisingly close release date of October 17. This narrative-led adventure game is a story told without any exposition, letting the on-screen elements do the heavy lifting of communicating what appears to be a fairly emotional story where you play as…a lighthouse?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

The final reveal of the showcase was for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which is the first time that the Call of Duty series has followed up a Black Ops game with another mainline entry in the series (rather than alternating, as per tradition).
