Everything Announced at Today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase
Just a week after delivering a surprise Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase aimed at highlighting third-party AAA titles heading to Switch and Switch 2, Nintendo aired an Indie World Showcase this morning that was similarly packed with updates and reveals on upcoming indie titles. Everyone expected (or at least hoped) that Hollow Knight: Silksong would make an appearance at some point, given that the title is going to be playable at the fast-approaching GamesCom convention. Unfortunately, Silksong once again remained elusive, but that doesn’t mean that the other games shown off aren’t worth getting excited about.
Mina The Hollower
- Release Date — October 31, 2025
- Developer — Yacht Club Games
- Publisher — Yacht Club Games
- Genre — Action-Adventure
Kicking off the Nintendo Indie World showcase was another look at Yacht Club Games’ upcoming title Mina The Hollower. We already knew that Mina would finally be releasing this October thanks to its appearance at the summer gaming showcases back in June, but the title now has a public demo available on the Nintendo eShop that we strongly suggest checking out. Fans of Shovel Knight (as well as old-school Zelda and Castlevania games) will likely be very into what Mina The Hollower brings to the table.
Well Dweller
- Release Date — TBA 2026
- Developer — Kyle Thompson
- Publisher — Kyle Thompson, Top Hat Studios
- Genre — Metroidvania
Indie Metroidvania developer Kyle Thompson had hinted earlier in the year that he had yet another game set to release at some point in the near future, and today we got our first glimpse of it at the Indie World showcase. Dubbed Well Dweller, this next Kyle Thompson game looks to take a bit of a darker and more combat-focused approach than his previous games, all while retaining the solid grasp of Metroidvania elements present in Sheepo, Islets, and Crypt Custodian.
Neverway
- Release Date — TBA 2026
- Developer — Coldblood Inc.
- Publisher — Coldblood Inc., Outersloth
- Genre — RPG, Simulation
Part farm simulation RPG and part narrative horror adventure game, Neverway has looked like a title to watch ever since its Steam page first went up, and the closer look we got at the title today courtesy of Nintendo’s Indie World showcase only served to make it seem like it might be one of the more special indie games to arrive in some time. Along with its unique and eclectic mix of gameplay genres, Neverway features some all-star talent on its development team, including the pixel artist who worked on Celeste and an original score from Hyper Light Drifter and Fez‘s Disasterpeace.
Herdling
- Release Date — August 21, 2025
- Developer — Okomotive
- Publisher — Panic
- Genre — Adventure
Okomotive, the team behind the excellent and underrated FAR: Lone Sails, has a new game coming at the end of this month where you play as — wait for it — a sheep herder. Herdling looks like a cozy and exploration-driven adventure game in which you get to corral and lead a group of mysterious alien creatures that look like a cross between a sheep, a ram, and some sort of otherworldy mammal all rolled into one, and the open world setting is already looking absolutely gorgeous.
Is This Seat Taken?
- Release Date — August 7, 2025
- Developer — Poti Poti Studio
- Publisher — Wholesome Games Presents
- Genre — Puzzle
One of a small handful of games to debut and then get shadow-dropped during the Indie World showcase, Is This Seat Taken? is a charming little puzzle game with a human psychology twist. Your goal is to take a set number of people and arrange them in the most ideal order according to their personality quirks and traits, with the top scores awarded to players who think carefully about who should sit next to whom. It’s got a cute art style and seems like it would be a great low-stakes puzzle game to unwind with.
Little Kitty, Big City Update
- Release Date — TBD 2025
- Developer — Double Dagger Studio
- Publisher — Double Dagger Studio
- Genre — Adventure, Simulation
Not a game announcement but instead an update, Big Kittle Little City is getting a major content drop later this year that adds new costumes, new photography options, and more.
Content Warning
- Release Date — TBA 2026
- Developer — Wilnyl, Phillip, thePetHen, Skog, Zorro
- Publisher — Landfall
- Genre — Horror, Co-op
Even though Switch 2 owners will have to wait until 2026 to play it, viral smash-hit co-op horror game Content Warning is making its way to Nintendo’s new console, where it’ll likely make a similar splash. For the unaware, Content Warning pits you and three friends as workers who must generate content for a company that sends you into harrowing situations, which you can then watch back at your base…if you make it out alive.
Ball x Pit
- Release Date — October 15, 2025
- Developer — Kenny Sun
- Publisher — Devolver Digital
- Genre — Action Roguelike
Having played the demo for Ball x Pit back during the most recent Steam Next Fest, I can attest to it being an incredible spin on the ever-growing “Survivor-like” subgenre of action roguelikes, and we now know that it’s coming to the Switch and Switch 2. The game also has a publisher now in Devolver Digital, who know a good thing when they see it.
Ultimate Sheep Raccoon
- Release Date — Winter 2025
- Developer — Clever Endeavor Games
- Publisher — Clever Endeavor Games
- Genre — Physics, Racing, Party Game
Imagine the physics-based racing of a Trials game and combine it with the hilariously chaotic antics of a multiplayer party game like Fall Guys, and you’ve got Ultimate Sheep Raccoon. This cartoonish multiplayer racing game supports up to 8 players as they jump, flip, and crash around some intricately-designed courses that would make any Trials fan proud, and it should be arriving on Switch and Switch 2 this winter (as well as on PC, with cross-play enabled).
Glaciered
- Release Date — Holiday 2025
- Developer — Studio Snowblind
- Publisher — Playism
- Genre — Action RPG
Next up in the showcase was an intriguing-looking action RPG from Studio Snowblind called Glaciered. Glaciered puts players in control of a strange avian who’s evolved to live under the vast layer of ice covering the Earth’s oceans in the distant future, and it looks like a sort of action RPG take on a game like Ecco the Dolphin.
Winter Burrow
- Release Date — Winter 2025
- Developer — Pine Creek Games
- Publisher — Noodlecake
- Genre — Adventure, Survival
Closing out the Indie World showcase was a rapid-fire deluge of announcements that showed off quick snippets of gameplay, the first of which was Winter Burrow. This beautifully illustrated survival and crafting game puts you in control of a tiny rodent hoping to survive the harsh winter, and it looks like it’ll be something that interests any fans of Redwall out there.
Undusted: Letters From the Past
- Release Date — October 2025
- Developer — 5minlab Corp.
- Publisher — Toge Productions
- Genre — Puzzle, Cozy
A cross between a puzzle game and Power Wash Simulator, Undusted sees you take objects that have been lost to the ravages of time and restore them as part of a larger narrative that ties the whole experience together, and it’s arriving for Switch and Switch 2 this October.
Tiny Bookshop
- Release Date — August 7, 2025
- Developer — neoludic Games
- Publisher — Skystone Games, 2P Games
- Genre — Management, Simulation, Cozy
Pretty much what it says in the title, Tiny Bookshop is a cozy management sim about running, what else, a tiny bookshop. It looks like you’ll need to manage inventory, take orders, and get to know your customers’ tastes, all while getting to live out any bibliophile’s fantasy of owning their own bookstore.
Caves of Qud
- Release Date — Winter 2025
- Developer — Freehold Games
- Publisher — Kitfox Games

Old-school roguelike Caves of Qud finally entered into 1.0 last year to universal praise following a lengthy Early Access period, and it’s now heading to Switch 2 at some point this winter. Fans of RPGs with deep customization and an incredible amount of complexity in their systems should definitely keep Caves of Qud on their radar.
Strange Antiquities
- Release Date — September 17, 2025
- Developer — Bad Viking
- Publisher — Iceberg Interactive

Another first-person puzzle game heading to Switch and Switch 2 this September is Strange Antiquities, which mixes its puzzle elements with a narrative adventure that sees you tackle the paranormal happenings in a small town.
OPUS: Prism Peak
- Release Date — Fall 2025
- Developer — Sigono
- Publisher — Shueisha Games
- Genre — Adventure
The latest game in the OPUS narrative adventure series, OPUS: Prism Peak, is headed to Switch 2 after previously being announced for PC. It looks as if it’ll have a heavy emphasis on adventure and exploration, along with its new focus on a photography mechanic.
Go-Go Town!
- Release Date — Spring 2026
- Developer — Prideful Sloth
- Publisher — Prideful Sloth, CULT Games
- Genre — City-Builder, Simulation
After originally launching on Steam, humorous and hectic town management sim Go-Go Town! is headed to Switch 2 next year. This one already has an impressive 93% “Very Positive” rating on Steam and is apparently every bit as fun as it looks.
UFO 50
- Release Date — August 7, 2025
- Developer — Mossmouth
- Publisher — Mossmouth
- Genre — Retro, Compilation
The final announcement of the Indie World showcase was the very good news that UFO 50 is coming to Switch and Switch 2 today. Coinciding with the game’s launch on other platforms is a new collector’s edition that includes a physical copy of the game and a guide for the 50 original “retro” titles included within. UFO 50 is a monumental achievement and one of the best indie games of the last few years, and it’s great to see it finally arrive on an indie-friendly platform like the Switch.
