July 2025 Game Releases: 15 Great-Looking Titles We Can’t Wait to Play

The post July 2025 Game Releases: 15 Great-Looking Titles We Can’t Wait to Play appeared first on Cheat Code Central.

With the major summer gaming showcases now in the rearview mirror, we can look ahead to the slate of titles arriving in just a few weeks once June gives way to July. As if both May and June’s game release calendars weren’t stacked enough, the roster of July 2025 game releases is loaded from front to back with great looking indie, AA and AAA titles for a variety of platforms, with a few noteworthy titles that have been on many players’ radars for quite some time. Kicking off the month is the highly anticipated Mecha Break, which maintained the top-wishlisted spot on Steam for quite some time, and the end of the month is capped off with the long-awaited release of the fantastic new 2D Ninja Gaiden title, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound.

Mecha Break

July 2025 Game Releases: 15 Great-Looking Titles We Can’t Wait to Play
  • Release Date — July 1, 2025
  • Developer — Amazing Seasun Games
  • Publisher — Amazing Seasun Games
  • Genre — F2P, Action, Shooter
  • Platforms — PC, Xbox Series X/S

Free-to-play (F2P) games tend to be pretty popular, especially if they have a compelling gameplay loop to back up their nature as being cost-free, risk-free experiences. From the moment it was initially revealed,Mecha Break has looked like it has the potential to be one of the greatest F2P games ever, especially for fans of titles like Armored Core or Daemon x Machina who are hungry for more third-person mech fighting action. Mecha Break is still one of the most wishlisted games on Steam, and its release on Xbox consoles likely points to the title being crossplay, meaning it should have an incredibly healthy community at launch for its PvP-leaning gameplay.

Everdeep Aurora

Everdeep Aurora gameplay
  • Release Date — July 10, 2025
  • Developer — Nautilus Games
  • Publisher — Ysbryd Games
  • Genre — Adventure
  • Platforms — PC, Nintendo Switch

Nautilus Games’ Everdeep Aurora ticks a lot of boxes for anyone who grew up playing action-adventure games on the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance, using a similar aesthetic to deliver a tale about restoring community in the wake of an apocalypse. Plus, you get to play as an adorable cat. Everdeep Aurora recently launched a public demo just ahead of the June 2025 Steam Next Fest and is already garnering plenty of praise for its visuals, atmosphere, writing, and loving homage to old-school adventure gameplay.

Every Day We Fight

Every Day We Fight gameplay
  • Release Date — July 10, 2025
  • Developer — Signal Space Lab
  • Publisher — Hooded Horse
  • Genre — Tactics, Strategy, RPG
  • Platforms — PC

The turn-based tactics genre has been getting plenty of new and exciting entries lately (after all, someone has to step in and fill the void left by a lack of XCOM 3), and one of the more unique to come down the pike is Every Day We Fight. This tactics and strategy hybrid blends a compelling time loop story with real-time exploration and positioning, interspersed with perspective-shifting combat into first-person and turn-based attacking. Like some of the other games on this list, there’s also a public demo available on Steam for players to check out ahead of its launch on July 10.

Mycopunk

Mycopunk gameplay
  • Release Date — July 10, 2025
  • Developer — Pigeons at Play
  • Publisher — Devolver Digital
  • Genre — FPS
  • Platforms — PC

Indie publisher Devolver Digital seems to rarely ever miss when it comes to the titles they choose to support, and Mycopunk is one that was already garnering plenty of hype long before its developer partnered with Devolver. A mission-based FPS where you combat a surprising variety of — wait for it — deadly mushrooms, Mycopunk looks incredible, has a satisfying sense of speed and momentum, and features online co-op. The current demo for Mycopunk offers a satisfying slice of gameplay that only serves to suggest that the full release is going to be a must-play for FPS fans.

Raiders of Blackveil

Raiders of Blackveil gameplay
  • Release Date — July 10, 2025
  • Developer — Wombo Games
  • Publisher — Wombo Games
  • Genre — Action Roguelike, Action RPG
  • Platforms — PC

The MOBA genre can be incredibly intimidating to break into, and it doesn’t help that games like League of Legends and DOTA 2 have a bit of a reputation for being unfriendly to newcomers. But what if you took out the PvP element and instead imagined a MOBA as a PvE action roguelike? That’s the general premise behind Raiders of Blackveil, and it’s a title that looks incredibly intriguing, especially because the game features a nice variety of MOBA-style hero characters to choose from that shake up each run.

Patapon 1 + 2 Replay

Patapon 1+2 Replay gameplay
  • Release Date — July 11, 2025
  • Developer — SAS
  • Publisher — Bandai Namco Entertainment
  • Genre — Music/Rhythm
  • Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch

The Patapon games are some of the more beloved music and rhythm games of the era when the genre was really taking off, but they’ve been trapped on dead hardware for far too long. Thankfully, that’s coming to an end with the upcoming release of Patapon 1 + 2 Replay, which remasters and packages the first two Patapon games together and brings them to PC and consoles. The remasters make the unique shadow-based art style pop off the screen, polishing up their original PSP formats to feel right at home on modern displays.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 gameplay
  • Release Date — July 11, 2025
  • Developer — Iron Galaxy
  • Publisher — Activision
  • Genre — Sports
  • Platforms — PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

The first four Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games are some of the most important sports video games ever made. Now that the first two titles in the series have gotten a ground-up remake, it’s time for the third and fourth entries to follow suit. Developer Iron Galaxy has taken the critically acclaimed Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and4, remaking them as a single package that blends the gameplay elements from 4 into 3‘s parks, introduces a slew of playable pro skaters both returning and current, and even adds a brand-new, original park for the first time.

Night of the Consumers

Night of the Consumers gameplay
  • Release Date — July 11, 2025
  • Developer — GERMFOOD
  • Publisher — GERMFOOD
  • Genre — Survival Horror, Action
  • Platforms — PC

I recently highlighted Night of the Consumers as one of the most promising-looking upcoming survival horror games, and its release is actually sooner than expected, with the title arriving in just a few weeks on July 11. This first-person horror title straddles the line between humorous satire and disturbing psychological horror as you work in a literal retail hell to help customers who are very clearly not well.

Donkey Kong Bananza

Donkey Kong Bananza gameplay
  • Release Date — July 17, 2025
  • Developer — Nintendo
  • Publisher — Nintendo
  • Genre — Platformer, Adventure
  • Platforms — Switch 2

The first major first-party exclusive for the Switch 2 post-launch is Donkey Kong Bananza, which launches on July 17. This 3D platformer is a new take on the classic Nintendo mascot character, sharing more in common with games like Red Faction Guerrilla or Hulk: Ultimate Destruction than Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze or even Donkey Kong 64. Environments are fully destructible, combat plays a central role in the gameplay, and the visuals look impressive for all the tech running behind the scenes. This might be the first real “must-have” title in the Switch 2’s library.

He Is Coming

He Is Coming gameplay
  • Release Date — July 17, 2025
  • Developer — Chronocle
  • Publisher — Hooded Horse
  • Genre — Roguelike, RPG, Auto-Battler
  • Platforms — PC

I’ve had my eye on He Is Coming for quite some time now, as it reminds me a lot of one of my all-time favorite roguelikes: Loop Hero. Having now played it, I can confirm that the two do share some similarities, but He Is Coming ditches the looping structure of Loop Hero for a more strategic approach where you must carefully navigate a map and choose how to upgrade your hero before night falls and the truly dangerous monsters approach. Fans of roguelikes and old-school RPGs should absolutely keep He Is Coming on their radar.

RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business

RoboCop: Unfinished Business gameplay
  • Release Date — July 17, 2025
  • Developer — Teyon
  • Publisher — Nacon
  • Genre — FPS
  • Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S

One of the more surprising announcements from earlier in the year was the reveal that a major story DLC was coming for the excellent RoboCop: Rogue City, one that’s so large that it effectively acts as a standalone sequel. RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business is basically RoboCop meets The Raid, with the titular hero making his way up a skyscraper filled with villains to reach a nefarious corporate mastermind waiting at the top. If you played Rogue City, you’ll know how perfectly that game captures the RoboCop power fantasy, and Unfinished Business can’t come soon enough.

Shadow Labyrinth

Shadow Labyrinth gameplay
  • Release Date — July 17, 2025
  • Developer — Bandai Namco Studios
  • Publisher — Bandai Namco Entertainment
  • Genre — Metroidvania
  • Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S

A Pac-Man metroidvania was likely not something that anyone thought would (or should) happen, but Shadow Labyrinth is arriving in just a few weeks following its surprise reveal at The Game Awards 2024. This dark metroidvania game sees you play as a protagonist who receives aid from a unique shadow version of Namco’s classic arcade coin-op mascot, one that can suitably swallow up foes and spit them back out like so many pellets on a maze. Shadow Labyrinth hasn’t received a demo yet, but it could very well be a dark horse contender for one of the year’s best Metroidvania games.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers gameplay
  • Release Date — July 23, 2025
  • Developer — Leenzee
  • Publisher — 505 Games
  • Genre — Action RPG, Soulslike
  • Platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S

July 23 sees the release of one of the year’s most anticipated games, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. This upcoming soulslike game is reportedly in great shape ahead of its launch, with a recent public demo making the rounds and plenty of new footage shown off at the summer gaming showcases. It bears more than a little resemblance to Black Myth: Wukong, but appears different enough to stand on its own. Any Soulslike that explores more Chinese mythology is OK in our book.

No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files

No Sleep for Kaname Date - From AI: The Somnium Files gameplay
  • Release Date — July 25, 2025
  • Developer — Spike Chunsoft
  • Publisher — Spike Chunsoft
  • Genre — Visual Novel, Adventure
  • Platforms — PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2

The visual novel genre already has a few excellent new entries that have been released in 2025, and it’s getting one more in July. The upcoming AI: The Somnium Files spin-off, No Sleep For Kaname Date, is set to arrive in just a few weeks on July 25 and focuses on a side-story centering around the titular detective. Given the series’ penchant for great writing and compelling storytelling, this one looks intriguing.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound gameplay
  • Release Date — July 31, 2025
  • Developer — The Game Kitchen
  • Publisher — Dotemu, Joystick
  • Genre — Action Platformer
  • Platforms — PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

July 2025 closes out a strong month of game releases with Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. Ragebound is a new 2D entry in the Ninja Gaiden series (the first in over 30 years) developed by Blasphemous studio The Game Kitchen, and it taps into the speed and fluidity of the NES originals while balancing out the challenge to be something more accessible. There’s a public demo currently available on Steam that highlights just how exciting this game is for longtime fans of the Ninja Gaiden series.
