The Best-Selling Paid Games on Steam Right Now
If you’re ever curious to know what a large subset of gamers are into at the moment, look no further than Steam’s “Top Sellers” listings. Checking out the Top Sellers page shows all the best-selling games on Steam, both in terms of domestic and global performance, and it almost always correlates to the games with the highest current player counts. Today, we’re taking a look at the current top 10 best-selling games on Valve’s storefront, focusing on the titles that have a premium paid cost attached to them and leaving out the extremely popular free-to-play offerings like Counter-Strike 2, Marvel Rivals, and Destiny 2.
Helldivers 2
- Release Date — February 8, 2024
- Developer — Arrowhead Game Studios
- Publisher — PlayStation Publishing
- Genre — Extraction Shooter, Co-op
- Steam User Score — 78% (Mostly Positive)
- Price — $39.99
Arrowhead Studios’ Helldivers 2 has had its fair share of ups and downs since its launch, arriving to an overwhelmingly positive player reception and record-breaking player counts before eventually getting review-bombed thanks to Sony’s requirement of a PSN account, blocking several countries’ worth of players out of the game. Thankfully, Helldivers 2 is continuing to bounce back from its momentary negative reception, with players largely enjoying the recent update that sees the game’s enemy types finally making their way to Super Earth and bringing the fight to the Helldivers’ doorstep.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
- Release Date — April 24, 2025
- Developer — Sandfall Interactive
- Publisher — Kepler Interactive
- Genre — RPG
- Steam User Score — 95% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $49.99
This year’s front-runner for Game of the Year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, maintains an incredibly strong place on Steam’s Top Sellers list more than 3 months since its launch. This kind of momentum is almost unheard of for a purely single-player experience, and it almost serves as a testament to how great a game it is that it’s still pulling in new players months later who are hoping to see what all the hype is about. As anyone who’s played Clair Obscur can attest, it really is one of the best RPGs in years and a masterclass in how to balance compelling and engaging gameplay with an emotionally affecting and poignant narrative.
RimWorld
- Release Date — October 17, 2018
- Developer — Ludeon Studios
- Publisher — Ludeon Studios
- Genre — Survival, Strategy
- Steam User Score — 97% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $34.99
A recent major update to the critically acclaimed colony sim RimWorld has seen it once again creep right back up the sales charts, pulling in plenty of new players who are eager to see why it remains one of the more legendary games in the survival genre. The rise in popularity of survival games, in general, has primed RimWorld for a comeback, but Ludeon Studios took things a step further and added a ton of performance improvements and other tweaks to coincide with the upcoming launch of the spin-off, RimWorld: Odyssey.
Dead by Daylight
- Release Date — June 14, 2016
- Developer — Behaviour Interactive
- Publisher — Behaviour Interactive
- Genre — Survival Horror, Multiplayer
- Steam User Score — 79% (Mostly Positive)
- Price — $19.99
A lot of games tried the “asymmetrical multiplayer” angle to varying degrees of success, but none have executed it as well as Dead by Daylight. Behaviour Interactive’s incredibly popular multiplayer survival horror game continues to be one of Steam’s most-played games and is arguably one of the best, if not the best, asymmetrical horror experiences available, with it being just as fun to take on the role of the Killer as it is to play as one of the Survivors. It doesn’t hurt that Dead by Daylight‘s success has allowed the game to net a ton of excellent horror IP crossovers that only make it more popular and appealing than it already was.
Wildgate
- Release Date — July 22, 2025
- Developer — Moonshot Games
- Publisher — Dreamhaven
- Genre — FPS, PvP
- Steam User Score — 87% (Very Positive)
- Price — $29.99
On paper, Wildgate seemed like it would be a slam dunk, and its release has only further confirmed that sentiment. A space-faring twist on the Sea of Thieves formula, Wildgate is a PvP-focused FPS in which you pilot a spacecraft around a galaxy in search of treasure, all while sabotaging and fighting against other space pirates trying to beat you to it. Sea of Thieves is still going strong all these years later, and Wildgate is apparently delivering the same kind of compelling gameplay loop, only in the dark ocean of space.
Abiotic Factor
- Release Date — July 22, 2025
- Developer — Deep Field Games
- Publisher — Playstack
- Genre — Survival, Open-World, Co-op
- Steam User Score — 96% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $34.99
One of the most exciting titles to rank high up on the list of Steam’s best-selling games is Abiotic Factor, which just entered into 1.0 following an incredibly successful Early Access period. This sci-fi-leaning survival and base-building game is apparently an absolute blast that only becomes more fun when playing in co-op, and it’s already staking a strong claim for being one of the year’s best survival games right as the genre is continuing to explode in popularity. Part Half-Life, part Subnautica, and part The Thing, Abiotic Factor ticks a lot of the right boxes for its genre and is already pulling new players into the survival game fold as a great starting point.
Killing Floor 3
- Release Date — July 24, 2025
- Developer — Tripwire Interactive
- Publisher — Tripwire Interactive
- Genre — FPS, Co-op
- Steam User Score — 56% (Mixed)
- Price — $39.99
For the most part, the best-selling games on Steam are a “who’s who” of some of the more critically acclaimed new games on the market, but every once in a while, there’s a “dumb but fun” game that sneaks into the top 10. Right now, that game is Killing Floor 3, which isn’t really setting things on fire in terms of its critical and player reception but is generating plenty of sales from players hungry for a co-op zombie-shooting experience. The Killing Floor games have previously been a nice, quick fix of co-op fun that don’t wear out their welcome, and barring a few technical issues, Killing Floor 3 is apparently in the same boat.
Mage Arena
- Release Date — July 24, 2025
- Developer — jrsjams
- Publisher — jrsjams
- Genre — Action, PvP
- Steam User Score — 95% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $2.99
If a game is cheap, fun, and has potential for some viral hilarity on stream, then you can safely bet that it’s going to immediately land on Steam’s Top Sellers list. One of the newer games to meet all those criteria is Mage Arena, which is a multiplayer PvP game where players get to create and then fight against, what else, wizards. The kicker for Mage Arena is that it’s a co-op PvP game where roving gangs of sorcerers and warlocks do battle against one another, and its combat is all facilitated via voice-activated commands for casting spells.
PEAK
- Release Date — June 16, 2025
- Developer — Team PEAK
- Publisher — Aggro Crab, Landfall
- Genre — Co-op, Physics Simulation
- Steam User Score — 93% (Very Positive)
- Price — $7.99
Another co-op-focused game that’s heating up Steam’s sale charts is PEAK, which is a multiplayer climbing simulator in which communication and teamwork are essential if you plan on making it to the…peak. Get it? All joking aside, PEAK is another game with plenty of potential for hilarity as things go wrong and players misjudge the game’s physics simulation, sending themselves or even their entire team careening down into the abyss after an otherwise successful climb.
Ready or Not
- Release Date — December 13, 2023
- Developer — VOID Interactive
- Publisher — VOID Interactive
- Genre — Tactical Shooter
- Steam User Score — 77% (Mostly Positive)
- Price — $49.99
Despite the recent outcry from the game’s very avid player base regarding concerns over censorship, Ready or Not continues to be the best-selling paid title on Steam, and it’s easy to see why. Not only is Ready or Not one of the best games of its kind, but it has also just made its way to consoles with cross-play, meaning the player base has exploded following the game’s impressive sales on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Ready or Not is fun in single-player and has some fairly impressive AI, but it’s an experience that really shines in multiplayer, making it an easy shoo-in for being one of Steam’s best-selling games.
